Why ps2 is the best

A few more to add to that list: Tonk Hawk 3, Grand Theft Auto 3, Resident Evil 4, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy XI, Quake III: Revolution, WWF SmackDown! 3, Z.O.E, and alot more. There is just to many cool games that are going to come out for the PS2. I'm not saying I like the PS2 better than the Gamecube but I own a PS2 and it kicks ass!

the DVD player on PS2 is horrible
and so are the games namco are going to give nintendo a great selection of fighters so ill be happy

Wow I can watch DVD's on My PS2. It may not work well but I think thats cool. Hey look my console and all it games are over rated. Yet people still buy it. I have to buy a multi tap to have more than 2 player, thats allso cool. I can use my old PSX controllers, wow talk about inovation. Hey look PS2 cost more but can't handle Game Cubes or Xboxs graphics.

Why would any one in there right mind by this console then try to say it will be better than Game Cube and Xbox. Its made by Sony they never build the best stuf. Theres always at least 1 company that builds somthing better. Sony has some equiptment in nearly every home in the US. Thats respectable but why don't they build one thing better than all the competetion?

Thats your opinion. Lots of people are enjoying Gran Turismo 3 and the Metal Gear Solid 2 demo right now(Yes, even after all of these weeks/months, we're still playing the demo.. This game is gonna kick ass.)

If it aint broke, dont fix it. Most people liked the feel of the PSX's controller. It worked well with almost every genre.

And since the thing is backwards compatible, it kind of makes sense that they would keep the old design.

Uh... The Xbox is going to be $300, and the PS2 will be $200-$250 this fall.

Because its out now and we can enjoy its killer apps now maybe?... Maybe some people dont like the games that're coming out for the GCN and Xbox, ever think of that?

Sega CD? It was a add-on for the genesis that first used CDs for games but it never
became that popular if anyone remembers. i have nothing

They either priced their systems too high, didn't advertise it like they should have, didn't release enough quality software, or all of the above. Sony offered developers cheap development fees, with a lot of development support. And they advertised their system almost perfectly, resulting in the PSX's large userbase now. They did it right. Developers at that time were looking for CD quality music and Full Motion Videos in their games, and Sony helped them to get 'em in.

yeah and sony didn't set the price too when the PS1 first came out, not. Even though the PS2 started as $300 the PS1 started at $350. the price drop and FF7 are the things that helped the PS1 become popular in the first place.
