first the gamecube since you know this is the forum for it..
main processor 64-bit ibm copper wire gekko
cpu clock speed 400 mhz
polygons per sec 6-12 mill
online? maybe by holiday 2001
next the ps2
main processor 128-bit emotion engine
cpu clock speed 300mhz
poly's per sec 66 mill
online? same as above
and the xbox...
main processor modified intel pentium 3
cpu clock speed 733mhz
pol's per sec 150 mill
online? broadband out of the box
round one for the xbox...but the ps2 will have and entire year to gain speed but the other two will reliese about the same time the xbox comes with online gaming like the sega but it will be high speed so it will kick ass!!!
both the xbox and cg will have 4 controllers i am thinking the box will be the shit and i am placing my money on it anyone want to commet?
i definately will buy the cube for zelda and pd2... and i will definately buy the ps2 for final fantasy... but what games will the box be able to gain??? this could be the one downfall of the system
I heard that the development kits for X-Box is similar to the ones for PC's. So we could expect me PC like games. Ah, to hell with that I'm putting my money on the Gamecube.
We surly push more polys than that its like 66 isnt it im soooooooo sure it is!
I think the X-Box has the potential to be the best video game system ever created. By comparing the specs of all of the systems I think the Dreamcast will be the first or only system to die.
Damn, it feels good to be a gangsta.
X-Box has a hard drive. That means it can crash like a computer. And since you will be able to download patches and mods and such, there is a chance that your X-Box could get a virus and die.
Gamcube all the way.
look everyone thinking that the x-box is doing 150 million polys per second obvoiusly isn't the most inteligent person u know y
cause it is impossible to do 150 million polys with 6 gflops do u understand ok
and then u get a PS2 claiming 66 million i'm just telling u that is a raw number with no textures ir hw lights ok got it so gamecube raw power is close to 90 million ok
then again for gamecube it is possible for gamecube to do 150 million polys per second cause it has 14 gflops ok making it somewut possible
but then u still have a problem the system hardware just isn't powerful enough to do 150 million polys
so no system will do more then 100 million at launch probably not eaven 90

thats just a bit of the specs ok
gamecube is not 6-12 there those r lowballed numbers Factor 5 is already doing 12 using half the systens power so it is very possible to do 20 million
PS2's numbers r raw numbers gamecubes raw power using half the systems power is 90 mill ok
so when some1 posts PS2 and x-box with their raw numbers i think they should do the same for gamecube
I getcha Gamecube does a whole 90 using just half the power but if you use the full power its a whoppin 180!!??!?! is that even possible????????
ummmmmm
probably not maybe that number comes from already dubling the systems power
like 45 mill using half the systems power
eaven tho it has amazing gflops i odn't think 14 couls pull 180
i think it's amazing that they have done 12 mill with all 8 layers in effect and 8 hardware lights with half power PS2 is doing like 5 and dreamcast id doing 3
and just remember when u see an insane x-box number that they r using half the textures that gamecube is
Ok let this topic die...I made this months ago the specs have been made more realistic since then. This is and old discussion
yeah this name finilly has 100 again...I wonder how it got cookied with this one again i havent used it in so long
