If you don't get classification in Germany, the console makers refuse to release your game here. Because if you don't have a classification, you can get banned by the BPJM (institution which banns games and movies). PC games on the other hand get releases. Banned games can still be sold here, but only in stores which are 18 and up (Sex Shops, Video Rental Stores, some online shops). Same applies to porn, which is effectively banned the same way, but more automatically.

But... as long as you don't see full on hardcore action, I doubt it would get banned here.

what really drives me mad about Kinect are the promotions it got from every outlet. no matter whether a game was unresponsive, they'd all agree on one thing: 'it has potential'. as if the whole American media were willing it to succeed. the blame for this can only be put at Microsoft's feet. they promoted the Kinect as if it were Kinect 2 ... and that's what drives me mad

there WILL be people who will buy Kinect 2 and be happy that they finally got what they were promised and totally forget that they were conned into buying Kinect in the first place. it may have worked for Nintendo but that's because they had a compelling idea.

Don't blame microsoft, blame the uninformed consumers. You really can't blame a company for marketing a product and trying to sell it.

yeah, but there is a difference between promoting and lying. Star Wars was supposed to be a core/hardcore game and Milo was supposed to be an artificial character that could interact with you and work out how you were feeling that day... the list goes on. it was going to be just like the holodeck in star trek... and the punters lapped it up. i even doubt that Kinect 2 will be able to fulfil all the promises. people are too hung up on what they imagine the future to be like. in a thousand years time we'll still be using buttons even if books and films would like us to think otherwise. like i said: Kinect is the Lavalamp of this generation

You don't eat pigs, we don't eat pigs,
It seems it's been that way forever.
So if you don't eat pigs and we don't eat pigs,
Why not not eat pigs together?

Just to give a heads up, Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor seems to be a broken game so it'll be wise to stay away

Of course it's broken, it's a kinect game. They went from the most complex mech game to ever be released to casual suicide.

From what I heard it's not even because Kinect. The game itself is just broken.

Amazon is offering a free coaster with purchase of Kinect

No, it's because of Kinect as well. I watched the video and they clearly state that in addition to the game being broken, the kinect integration further ruins the experience. You can see the problems they have with kinect recognizing the various gestures as they play.

It's because the game was designed around small, unpronounced motions, which the Kinect can't handle well. In my opinion, that's poor game design. If a game asked you to use the left analog and dpad at the same time, it's poor design, the controller isn't build for that.

Yeah, and it's about as elaborate as Angry Birds (albeit in 3D). Some might remember Defender of the Crown on Amiga or C64... that game had a catapult minigame, too^^

Screwing consumers over, now better with Kinect (No quotes this time)
The users consuming the content on a display device are monitored so that if the number of user-views licensed is exceeded, remedial action may be taken.
