Well, the CPU should be able to run most games adequately, but the GPU... I dunno. My i3 330m coupled with a 5650 cannot run more demanding games (FFXII or so) at full speed. But from what I can tell, it's the CPU that's in need of more speed, not the GPU.

My new desktop PC should run all games at full speed, though I never tried it yet...

    What is that?

Basically all I have done on mine is download pcsx2 and the I guess "basic" plug-ins. Everything seemed to work ok (God Hand, MGS3, Odin Sphere, Tales of Abyss). However I remember trying out FFXII and the graphics did seem a little off or wonky.

FXAA is a shader implementation of a heuristic AA algorithm. Not as good as real MSAA, but MUCH faster and can easily be implemented in most software... even after it's been done.

Yeah it's practically no hit. It works best with 2x or 3x scaling and starts to degrade in noticability at 4x. I'll post some pics in a sec. And were you forcing MSAA on FFXII That causes a few issues.

Oh and for those that didn't know. Here is a buildbot that nicely builds the latest svn revisions for those who can't or do want to do it themselves. http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/

    NoFXAA 3x scaling

    FXAA 3x scaling

    Tweaking settings FXAA 3x scaling

    NoFXAA 3x scaling

    FXAA 3x scaling

FXAA No Subpixel blurring 3x scaling

I haven't used my PS2 emulation in a while. I did do my PSone version, though, but that didn't turn out pretty with some driver errors.

Because without the "1337" and "Cowboys!", we'd be the Wyld Stallynz.

heh well this isn't that bad as long as you have a dual/quad core in the 3ghz range with a mid-range GPU

Well there has been a bit of a action over the past bit. Including the advent of widescreen patches. It's not as nice as dolphin as you have to patch per game and their seems to be some on which it could be impossible. However they are nice.
