Do you have an unlocked multiplier?

cant quite remember, i haven't tinkered with the system in around 14-15 months... never felt the need really

    edit
just checked... no it doesn't, it's locked upwards (ie, can only go down)

Then you're probably screwed as you're ram can't take the new speed. you can try lowering the fsb then overclocking from there or you could up the voltage on the ram a little bit but that is always a last resort.

Wow! I didnt think this thing would ever be usable.
The last time I tried it I got 5fps and they were saying its nice that its there its just unlikely to be useful any time soon. Tbh I thought they had stopped working on it

don't know how, but i managed to hit 2.64 from 2.2 on stock today.... not much of an improvement in pcsx2, but hey... its a good %20 more

Yeah. Performance is pretty linear to clock speed.

FFX runs nearly full speed on my system... quite nice
    Kept you waiting

  8. I've updated the settings for the emulator.

I found some settings that work really great with Yakuza and Yakuza 2 and don't greatly impact the performance of other games and from what I have gathered don't all all affect the accuracy of emulation for other games.

Settings Round Mode in Config --> Advanced to Chop/Zero for both EE Recs and VU Recs removes a lot of the visual glitches from the cutscenes and indoor areas. The glitch would normally apply way too much blur in cutscenes and indoor areas but this appears to alleviate this problem.

Also setting Clamp Mode in EE Recs and VU Recs also seems to help. Clamp Mode however impacts performance a bit more so it's all up to the user to see what they want to do per game.

Edit - Nevermind, keep both Clamp Modes at Normal. Just put the Round Modes for EE & VU at Chop/Zero and Yakuza and Yakuza 2 lose the overblurring.

    Those should be the defaults

  10. Chop/Zero is the default? Lol, whoops. I must have forgotten it, I've been playing with the settings for a while now.

  11. Great guide!
Could have used this when my fatty PS2 wouldn't read Yakuza2 and I was going crazy.

But then I just did what iSDK though of and bought a slim PS2 for like £45...It's so sexy as well

I would love to use this emulator but the controller settings seem to hate me. They don't save right. I exit out of the config screen after applying the settings and no buttons work. Then when I go back to the screen it's like all my stuff has been reset......Just getting frustrated with this thing.

Use the latest Lilypad I haven't had any issues with it.

  14. Make sure you set both controllers to Lilypad also. I've heard there are issues if the controllers are set to use different plugins.

    I also use Lilypad.

It's listed in my recommended plugins by the way, I didn't make that for nothing

It was a problem with the files being set to read only. So it wouldn't save the configuration settings. Though when I installed the new lillypad an error message popped up an alerted me to that, otherwise I wouldn't have known. Got it working now and it ran Tales of the Abyss just fine. Seems pretty cool, I will def be using this.

Tales of the Abyss looks great on it. Sadly the raising the internal resolution offsets the bloom layer at the moment though.

  17. About to update with the arrival of 0.9.6 beta 1329 executable. To get this executable search in the first post for 'beta' or something to get all the beta releases of PCSX2.

  18. #58

  19. What does that have to do with PCSX2... :/

Edit - Updated the main post to go along with the newly released SVN 1329!

If you know how to use SVN's and compile they are on SVN 1354.
