Thread: Merge all PS sections into one.

  1. #1

Merge all PS sections into one.

We need to combine all PS sections together. PSP and PS2 aren't exactly a live party at the moment. With them merged with PS3's, they will definitely get a boost in activity. Also, other gaming sections in this forum have already merged their consoles together, so why not do the same with this one as well? I really don't see the point of the divide.

PS. Read the thread and think before voting. Don't say; "I want to change my vote now, but it is too late". That's just stupid.

This poll will expire in 2 weeks.

I voted no, since i like to be able to look for specific news in a certain section, thats why i dont even like the enws/rumours thread, i like to be able to find everything i want in its own section

having all thies seperate boards is a pain in the ass for both the poster and reader. all to offten good threads are left to die in boards that are all to often never vistited.

threads like brick and morter stores are dependant on maximum exposure. lets get the ALL the playstation games and consoles into one board.

why when you can find it all in one place? why would you want to drive across town to 3 differant stores when you could just go to one mall?

as a community organiser its fusteraing to have to break the ruls in order to set up a KZ2 game. because if i posted that in the Clan boards it would never get seen...

same thing with the LBP and MGS boards as soon as the boards where created sudenly activity in thouse threads crashed down to nothing.

Hang on, weren't you one of the people who wanted a clan board?

I don't see the point in grouping all of the boards together when they're kinda already grouped together. If you go to the PlayStation section in Video Games, then the three sections are there for you to see. If you're using the PSINext skin, then they're all on the front page. It's not like the way it is now is going to confuse people.

I wouldn't want to drive to 3 stores, but this isn't driving to three stores, its hitting the back button on my mouse, no major effort.

    Anyway, everyone has their prefferences.

I also believe that ps2/psp news might get swallowed up by the PS3 news

Imo, it would be no different, if all sections are cluttered into one, then topics are going to be pushed down at a faster rate.

Also I don't see how putting them all into the most popular section would help, since if people weren't interested in the PS2/PSP sections to begin with how would shoving them into the PS3 section help?

I feel it's much easier for me to find news & updates in each respective section.

    ^ I agree.

i expected it to be within the PS sections not out in the kelper belt our clan page should fall within the PS board.

Yea, it does seem a bit odd having it right near the bottom of the page. I'll see if we can get each clan section moved.

If it can get moved into the Sony section, then it will get some more exposure. From what I remember, you managed to get a decent number of people to join up in the Warhawk matches when you posted here. The problem with KZ2 may be that people are finishing SP before they move onto MP.

  12. I should've posted this here lol....

Whoever is voting should be relatively frequent (frequent in relative terms because none of us visit the PS2 section very much for instance) visitors of the PS3, PS2, PSP sections regardless of whether you use the other sections or not. Basically whatever you do browse it must include browsing the PS sections.

I know this isn't going to happen... but the vote should really only apply to those who contribute to the Playstation forum consistently whether or not you use other sections.

I would say that 99% of the people who come here nowadays are regulars.

If we were to do what you were suggesting Smokey, wouldn't that be kinda doing what we've got already? Except just having stickies that linked to those sections?

  15. ^^Maybe that's a good idea actually. Similar to the PS3 News of the Day thread? Is that what you're thinking smokey?

Well if that's true that's good then. As long as the people who are voting are the ones who are spending time here.

  17. Nice, I would be up for smokey's idea to merge them and keep the PS2/PSP news in sight.

  18. #18
I guess having something similar to the PS3 rumours thread wouldn't be so bad, maybe it would just need to have a new one every now and then so that it didn't get too large.

  19. ^I think that's the plan we have for the PS3 New of the Day thread as well :P

We semi-agreed on a monthly change (I think). Even bimonthly if the length stays manageable long enough.

I would rather have the PS2 and PS3 merged with the PSP having it's own section.
