MadWorld - In Stores March 10

With HOTD: Overkill now released, it is now time for #2 in SEGA's "Big 3" to come out. Hopefully this game will sell well and encourage publishers to produce more "mature" oriented titles onto the Wii.

    Gameplay Trailers:

    Trailer 2

    Sports Trailers:
    Trailer 1
    Trailer 2
    Trailer 3
    Trailer 4
    DeathWatch Bloopers
    DeathWatch Bloopers 2

So where's the love and excitement for MadWorld? This game certainly deserves as much attention as the Conduit.

I own games that own and MadWorld owns.

i'll definitely be getting it. i really had no interest in the beginning but after watching the trailers and seeing the humorous side of it all, its found a place on my buy list.

i got HotD:Overkill. will be getting this and The Conduit. in my books SEGA is the third party publisher to beat on Wii.

I know a lot of you probably hate GameStop but if you are genuinely planning on buying it and you live in a small town you should go reserve a copy so that the stores get sent a sufficient shipment and can build hype for it. Games like this can fade into obscurity in the retail market fairly quickly and GameStop is actually trying to push it pretty hard so go plop $5 down on it to guarantee we get decent size shipments.

Gamestop is indeed pushing the game pretty well. They even got a unique pre-order reminder on thier Wii page. They also sent "employee kits" to their stores to help promote the game. I also heard that they got some pre-order goodies going on, but I'm not sure if it applies to all Gamestops, as it hasn't been officially announced.

Though it does kinda suck that the US isn't getting any special pre-orders. Much like how HOTD:Overkill got exclusive special editions and bundles, MadWorld special pre-orders seem to only be for the PAL regions also.

Its not too bad I guess since I plan on picking up MadWorld regardless, but I'm disappointed that SEGA isn't trying hard enough on pushing this game in the US.

    We're definitely getting screwed.

We have everyone push our button. Non-stop.

And yeah, we're getting kind of screwed on pre-order stuff.

Because without the "1337" and "Cowboys!", we'd be the Wyld Stallynz.

Hm...Amazon has the game for $40

Not sure if this is limited or not, but hopefully it will sway some gamers into buying this game.

Edit: Price went up to $46.99

IGN has released some details about the control scheme in MadWorld. I think they look good.

    Looks good.

You know, the control scheme from The Godfather: BlackHand Edition would have fit pretty well actually.

I agree that The Godfather had amazing controls, i think the non stop brutal gameplay needs simple controls. But what the hell is a BUCK FLIP...?Please tell me its a typo.

I saw that too and figured it was a typo for Back Flip.

the game needs to get rid of the nothing but rap sound track, and i didnt like how the phrase in one of the trailers i saw on ign had the lines "stay down bitch" repeated about 50 times. That wasn't funny it was obnoxious. Perhaps if the game gets good enough reviews I might just buy it and turn the music off while playing some of my own music in the background, but i dont like the idea of having to do that as much. Other things about the game look pretty good but audio is a big aspect that im not caring much for.

I was just wondering guys does Madworld support motion plus? Sorry i know im way behind in my Wii news. Also when is motion plus being released or has it been released stateside already?

No, I'm pretty sure MadWorld doesn't support MotionPlus.

Also, MotionPlus hasn't been released yet either. It was planned for a Spring '09 release but probably got delayed, and currently I have no idea when it will come out.

That's just trailer music and not in game else it would cut to a new track every time the trailer action cuts to a new scene.

    It won't need it.

The biggest downside to WM+ is people now sometimes assume that standard Wii controls aren't good enough. Anyone that has played The Godfather: BlackHand Edition can tell you that incredibly intuitive and immersive controls can be done with the standard set up.

Don't get me wrong, WM+ will provide for some cool new stuff but for basic brawling type gestures, it's overkill.

As for WM+ and Wii Sports Resort themselves, who knows. We can't tell if they were delayed or not because the most recent release list omitted them but ironically it also omitted MadWorld and some other upcoming releases that haven't been delayed.

There is also the fact that on Nintendo's media site, the listing date for Wii Sports Resort was changed from Spring 2009 to just 2009. I'm hoping it shouldn't be too long, since EA already has WM+ compatible games coming in June.

Anyway, I agree with Viper, I'm sure MadWorld is fine without it.
