If MS jumps out and makes Sony's software side sing, I might just have an orgasm.
Seriously, even fanboys cannot argue MS's software/UI with Sony's WWS/Hardware is made of win.
I don't entirely think it'll work like that. I mean, why would Sony give MS all of their exclusives while MS set on their butt and reap the rewards from Sony's innovations? This would increase Xbox awareness and lower the PlayStation. Sony is a hardware firm (their bread and butter) with their exclusives having MS on the ropes. I seriously doubt that they'll just throw all of that away and surrender to MS's software. If anything, Sony will toss MS their dated leftovers to aid them but not enough to put MS's product ahead of theirs as a trade-off for something Windows related for the PC or a none PlayStation platforms running the Windows GUI. Maybe this is where GaiKai comes in with Samsung or PS Mobile on HTC. It would be foolish of Sony to hand MS the reins and not expect MS to completely lock all of Sony's products into a closed ecosystem where they'll be calling all the shots.
Sounds to me like Sony wants to be versatile rather than tied to a specific format.
sing ? orgasm ? really?
anyway
since when are people so happy with MS software ?
do you use IE ?
is x360 software reall that perfect ?
aren't people complaining about MS focusing too much on advertising and
other shit rather than finding/navigating through games ?
anyway
i got impression that sure MS console has more features
like voice chat and stuff
but if not shortsighted amount of RAM in ps3
by this time it would have most of the same features
maybe it woudn't be so slick or metro as xbox dashboard
but i don't think that sony needs MS software
i suppose it makes me uber sony fanboy
or ms hateboy or something...

That's true, KRA. MS software might not be perfect but look at what Sony offers.
IE browser > Whatever shit PS3 uses.
OS in general, fast, clean, smooth > XMB's icons got way too cluttered as they kept adding features, slow as heck, clumsy as heck, using it feels like dragging a stick through mud compared to 360 OS (which, again, is not the OMG BEST THING EVER but sure as hell more fun to use than XMB).
I'll take advertising for those benefits. And by the way the advertising whiners are just that, internet whiners. It's more drawing your eye to new DLC and what not most of the time. And finding games you just go into games > downloadable > new. Replace that 'downloadable' page with Indie or On Demand, it's all easy to find and sort. No idea what the whining is all about. To launch games you click quick play on the first screen that loads and all your games are in there. And even through all games you can see your disc games and select it, the tray will automatically open for you and ask you to insert disc, once you do, the game loads.
AND if you don't want to wear out your disc and have HDD space you can install ANY game to play them off the HDD. The disc reads for a couple of minutes to verify and you can't take it out obviously.
And so on and so forth. Party Chat is the least of Sony's worries far as catching MS on the usability/software front.
Not dissing Sony (as anytime I say something positive about MS it's what is construed as here...) or anything, or being on MS's you-know-what, just letting you know as a user of both why 360 OS is just so much more intuitive.
Also I got a lot of 'donkey work' to do at work so I am procrastinating OmniStalgic style![]()

ok i stand corected
about advertising and stuff.
but
what i meant
was more like IE Browser <<< Chrome, firefox whatever
so there are better ways to improve playstation
for sure MS software on playstation doesn't make me hard.
you can just put a blu-ray in your ps3 and it will just start the gameTo launch games you click quick play on the first screen that loads and all your games are in there. And even through all games you can see your disc games and select it, the tray will automatically open for you and ask you to insert disc, once you do, the game loads.
anyway
i am aware that ms is ahead of sony
i think it's because
they really knew what they need want to do with it
sony doesn't seem to have everything thought out that much
just hoping that it won't be the case with PS4
things like assigning the account to the player...
in xbox it seems like a integral part of the system
when the second player is joining the system
in PS3 although it's possible to make
like in LBP
nobody cares to implement it
so the second player is always a guest
that kind of things annoy me.

Developing for console is a bit different and there is no way to know how Google or Mozilla will do with a console browser until they do it. For all you know they'll turn out worse than IE (which is coming to 360 soon so we'll see how it works).
I don't get hard either but if someone said to me Sony will have consultancy from MS or MS will have a hand in helping Sony on the software side I'll...I guess do a sigh of relief more than anything that it's in a company's hand who knows about software.
I, and even few others thought few times here it would make sense for Sony to get a 3rd party to build the OS and you aren't going to get that much better than MS. Love or hate MS, they know what they are doing.
well do they really need 3rd party ?
if they can assemble superbot just tohave fighting dev
they can surely get some OS guys
and i think they have
maybe i am wrong but it has more to do
with ps3 being sony first console
where the OS become that importent
and it will be alot better with ps4
and sure MS knows what they are doing
but i am sure that even you don't like everything they do
and i don't really need playstation OS to be like much better than MS
sony is already doing some things better
like PLUS for example.
Oh, for sure. I also like Trophy viewing much better on PS3....But again, it's very slow and clumsy. Even VITA, you go into an app, again sticking with the same thing, to view trophies for example, you see like four "please wait" boxes popping in and out. Followed by the syncing wait. It shouldn't take me 40 seconds to check my trophies.
Also they separated party, chat, friend list and messaging. They are all separate apps :/
Granted it runs smoothly at least (as in no 'software lag' but design and loading could be better).
You are right though, I am sure with PS3 Sony understood the need for a better user experience on the OS end and great idea to get knowledgeable devs on board to help with the OS coding. Hope Sony does that as their "3rd party help".

If it was a console made just to play games, I would agree. But if features and the OS and what-not is in there, you gotta do it well. You are lucky you don't care but I usually like to play with any toys the system gives me.
think im same mate all i see it as is a console. as long as i can chat playing a game im happy.
also master really only reason they put extra crap there is because people expect it nowdays. also its only cluttered because people want more useless crap.
my PSN name is smokey777

Sony trademarks "Rain" and "Until Dawn", are these the two games being announced at gamescom.

Partly Cloudy With Chances Of: RAIN
it needs to be Vita titles...I'm tired of seeing one of the best portable handhelds ever made get average sales every week -_-
Not that Nintendo doesn't do a good job in the portable space, but not releasing 3DS with two analog is a huge turnoff for me, and the market is already fragmented enough with some great games only on DS, and some others only on PSP. A little parity this time around would be much appreciated, so you can just choose what hardware you actually prefer more and not which has the best games.
“Had the religion of Christianity been preserved according to the ordinances of the Founder, the state and commonwealth of Christendom would have been far more united and happy than they are. Nor can there be a greater proof of its decadence than the fact that the nearer people are to the Church, the head of their religion, the less religious are they.”
"By their Fruits, you will recognize them..."
Until Dawn is most likely the Move game which was very briefly shown at I believe E3 2010 in a highlight reel. Rain could very well be a Vita game, it would also seem to befrom a Japanese developer according to the Gamescom schedule.
