Spike TV and GameTrailers team up for E3 “All Access Live”
    http://www.vg247.com/2012/05/01/spik...l-access-live/

  3. Same as last year then isn't it? I really enjoyed their presentation, one or two presenters were cluless filler people but the rest was great and the stream quality was awesome.

    E3, oh yeaaah

is sony going to change plus ?
i am really happy with what i got
    but this option C
with 75% discount on everything that shows up in the psn store on top of 61 free 'A' games per year seems interesting.
don't know why anybody would want to choose first two options.

  5. Yeh that doesn't make sense. Also if Elite is going to be 'no' for every option, why even have it there? lol

Also... I don't want to give Activision any money involutarily. Especially since I couldn't care less about either COD or Elite... I'd rather have them fund some indies. Like "flattr"^^

i'm putting this up because it feels too much of a coincidence:

Ecolibrium For PS3, A Virtual World of Semi-Intelligent Aliens, Outed?
    05/05/2012 Written by Sebastian Moss

The long term future of the games industry might suck, but the rest of this gen still looks to be exciting, with Sony working on a ton of PS3 exclusives, many of which may see an E3 reveal. We’ve uncovered a possible upcoming PS3 exclusive that aims to be a little different.

Filed last year and registered this February, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe trademarked “Ecolibrium“, which is, coincidentally, also the name of a Futurelab (not FuturLab) game project that is seeking funding for further development. So, if Sony’s Ecolibrium is Futurelab’s Ecolibrium, what is the game about? Here’s what the developer’s site says:

Ecolibrium (formerly Create-a-Creature) is a vast internet-based virtual world containing an ecosystem of thousands of semi-intelligent artificial life forms. Children can create their own creatures and release them into the world to observe their creature’s behaviour and success within the ecosystem. The project is aimed at worldwide school and home use, and investigates cross-curricular activity.

    Continuing:

    Technology

Simulation engine capable of real-time modelling of large creature populations.

    Distributed network architecture which supports:

each organisation hosting their own region of the world
perception and movement of creatures between regions in the wild
a security model which allows autonomous organisations to safely share their resources.

    Extensible rendering architecture which provides:

real-time high quality 3D views of individual creatures and the dynamics of creature populations
the ability to view creatures on a variety of devices including mobile phones and handhelds.

    Comprehensive toolset including:

a ‘sandbox’ to allow private experimentation with creatures before releasing them into the wild
beginner and expert tools for building your own creatures
the ability to ‘view source’ to enable people to see how any creature in the world is made.

    The flyer adds:

The Ecolibrium concept is a large-scale educational software application for schools. The idea is to construct a vast, internet-based virtual world containing an ecosystem of thousands of semiintelligent artificial life forms. Children will be able to create their own creatures and let them loose in this world. They can study their creature’s progress in order to learn about ecology, creature behaviour and other biological topics, while at the same time strengthening their ability to reason scientifically and gaining experience in modern ‘systems’ concepts such as Complexity and Chaos.

Kojima Productions has big plans for E3 this year, with the latest Kojima Productions Report podcast confirming that fans of the studio have “a lot to really look forward to” at the conference in June.

KP report hosts Sean Eyestone and Kendoza spoke about how the studio is very much working towards E3, with a lot of “big things” in place for next month’s showcase.

Additionally, the podcast discusses about the mysterious Metal Gear Rising: *********** teasers that have doing the rounds online of late, reassuring fans that even if everything seems a bit strange, weird and cryptic at the moment, it will all make sense and come together in the end. We can also expect some answers relating to the cryptic *********** teasers in the run up and before E3.

The remainder of the podcast, among other things, talks about Hideo Kojima’s ongoing European 25th Anniversary Metal Gear tour, and answers random Metal Gear/KP questions/comments from fans as per the podcast norm. Most of these comments relate to ***********.

Here’s the Kojima Productions Report Podcast # 160 in full.

Edit: No new games, Fox Engine still not ready after 2-3 years.

According to Cliffy B , Japanese game developpers should embrace multiplayer in their games and not be afraid to implement it , to appeal to western market.
He takes the example of Vanquish which could have worked with a MP mode.

Bleszinski: Japanese developers shouldn't ignore multiplayer "in a disc-based market"

Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski feels multiplayer should be embraced by Japanese development studios in order to appeal to western audiences.

Speaking with Gamasutra, Bleszinski said this doesn’t mean tacking on multiplayer for the sake of it, but instead creating interesting experiences – like what From Software developed for Dark Souls. Bleszinski said the multiplayer was “innovative” due to its “connected elements.” He feels it will continue to inspire western developed so to its “blended experience.”

My advice to Japan is that in a disc-based market right now, you cannot [ignore multiplayer],” he said.

And if you’re going to make a third-person shooter… the fact that [Platinum's] Vanquish didn’t have a multiplayer suite was a crime. That IP, it was pretty good as far as being western, but the gameplay was great, the vibe… and I’ve often said on record that if Gears is the kind of Wild, Wild West coal train chugging along, that Vanquish is the Japanese bullet train, with style and everything.

“There is absolutely no reason I shouldn’t have been zipping around, doing the mega slides, diving up in the air in an arena with other players.”

Bleszinski said another title which missed an opportunity with multiplayer was Grasshopper Manufacture’s Shadows of the Damned, a game he called a “wonderfully crazy adventure.”

“The dialogue had me laughing out loud, just even the key-door systems in there; it was a beautifully crazy game with really fun gameplay, but no multiplayer co-op experience in there,” he said.

I’m not saying tack on versus; there’s a billion different ways you can do some sort of ‘players interacting with other players

It's funny, because most multiplayer stuff in "western games" doesn't just feel tacked on... it IS tacked on, to get a box bullet point and maybe even ten extra dollars for "network pass".

And worst of all... why force them into a mono culture at all? Games sell bad, when they are bad... and they do well, when they are good. Most of the time. There are exceptions, of course. Does Mario sell worse because of the lack of multiplayer? Did Mass Effect 2 sell worse than Mass Effect 3? (talking of tacked on).

    pretty nice feature...
“Had the religion of Christianity been preserved according to the ordinances of the Founder, the state and commonwealth of Christendom would have been far more united and happy than they are. Nor can there be a greater proof of its decadence than the fact that the nearer people are to the Church, the head of their religion, the less religious are they.”

You don't eat pigs, we don't eat pigs,
It seems it's been that way forever.
So if you don't eat pigs and we don't eat pigs,
Why not not eat pigs together?

Funny enough is that the first party games are the least likely to come to PSN, as they are usually the largest ones (i.e. taking advantage of BluRay via FMVs etc). Not that I'd mind downloading large games, but even my 120GB hdd space isn't unlimited.
