Fine, let's make a PS3 news only thread in the general board against the opinion of users, moderators and an administrator because otherwise you can't make your own thread there
We both know that thread would die over there soon, but quit complaining about this thread and our community already.

Just Cause 2 coming in Q3 2009 News
BAFTA game nominations revealed NewsThat's sometime between July and September; we had to count on our fingers.
Eidos had positioned the tropical action sequel for a late 2008 release but pushed the game back, presumably to make sure the lofty design promises were met this time around.
Many of these are abandoned features from the lacklustre but enjoyable openworld original, or ideas based on community feedback for Just Cause 1.
Boring side-missions have been replaced by chaos activities that reward destructive rampages by increasing influence with certain factions around the map. And the more influence you have, the more opportunities within that faction become accessible.
Gain enough favour and you may find yourself with enough power to knock out entire governments.
On top of all this will be reworked AI, lock-on targeting and a host of bigger and better weapons
What was Just Cause 1?
i don't recall this game at all. Kudos for a sequel?
Lol BAFTA. They don't seem to know that Little Big Planet exists hahah.
What was this done on? Voting? Oh no wait... LBP has 6 nominations. Not that bad. COD4 having 8 though? That's uhhh... ok lol.. I'd rather reward LBP and Fable II a little more to be honest.

Barlog teases, "I think it'll be something everyone's fairly familiar with."
By Matt Leone, 02/10/2009
As part of a retrospective interview posted today on 1UP, former God of War 2 director and current freelance designer/writer Cory Barlog revealed that he is working with Sony on an upcoming project.
In his words: "I'm doing some work for Sony. I'm not able to announce specifically what that is, but I'm working on a script for them, so that's pretty sweet. I think it'll be something that everyone's fairly familiar with. That's probably all I can say about it. [Laughs] You can make your speculations from there."
This new script is one of a few projects Barlog has in the works in his freelance role. Back in late 2007, he left Sony to pursue opportunities such as a Mad Max game design with film director George Miller, which last we heard was looking for a publisher, and he tells us he has "other gigs" that we will hear more about soon as well.
But back to that speculation part. If it's something "everyone's familiar with," that would have to be God of War related, right?

interesting discovery in SOTC:

Nice, but pretty much meaningless without a further context for a PS3 title.

Whatever it was supposed to mean... all that's making me want to do is play SOTC now... lol.
I think I need a violence-break after playing the Killzone 2 Demo so much haha.
*puts SOTC into PS2*
Interesting read about Corey Barlog working on a script for Sony but i hope his Mad Max project hasnt been canceled i was really looking forward to it.
@OG_Monkey.... Open up a general news thread in the video game section and i will help you update it. Im pretty up to date with my Wii and X-box news. If you want?
Of course it is a PS3 topic since it is posted in the PS3 section. duh! That is why game titles in thread topics don't have [the PS3 version] next to them since all of this section is about PS3.
And I am sorry you feel sick of having to see PS3 news posted in the PS3 section. You can start posting PS3 news in other sections if it would make you feel better.

“We will be making some announcements closer to GDC, so stay tuned”.

Ubisoft's Avatar to get 3D treatment
I cant wait to see the film and play my first 3D game. James Cameron thinks its the most amazing moivie he has ever made.Back in 2007, Ubisoft secured the rights to publish and develop Avatar, a videogame based on the upcoming feature film by Twentieth Century Fox.
Speaking in an interview with MCV, which discusses the future for the French company, Ubisoft briefly mentions the sci-fi adventure, revealing that it will feature 3D technology. When asked where the company is in the development process for 3D technology, Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, revealed:
"We’re using 3D technology for Avatar, the game that we are making with James Cameron based on his film that will release later this year, and we’re very excited about it. 3D helps to immerse gamers and gives them the feeling that they are living the adventure of the game – and that is a great thing. It’s definitely a technology that will impress even the most jaded gamer."
Ubisoft have the whole year to work on Avatar and implement the technology successfully. The movie is due for release in December 2009 and PSU understands that the publisher may showcase the title at E3 later this year.
Avatar follows the story of an ex-Marine who finds himself in the midst of a battle on an alien infested planet. It will be James Cameron's first film as director since he worked on Titanic in 1997.
EA to release G.I. JOE this summer
[RUNOUR] The Warriors sequel in the making?Featuring an exclusive storyline, that will follow on from where the movie left off, the game will feature 12 characters from the world of G.I. JOE, with each sporting their own unique weapons and abilities. The action adventure will be a tale of good vs. evil as G.I JOE and his companions seek to destroy the COBRA organization.
Few details have been released about the gameplay, but we do know that it will be mission-based and they'll be a number of G.I JOE vehicles to commandeer along the way. They'll also be an offline co-op mode so players can tackle COBRA together, choosing from one of the twelve characters available. However, it is unknown whether the game will feature online play
I loved the first game i hope this rumour is true.
Sega unveils Alien vs. Predator
I dont know if this is good news or bad. Sega have Aliens RPG in development at Obsidian, Aliens: Colonial Marines at Gearbox and now this AVP game at Rebellion. They seem to be spreading their cash investments a bit thin over three games instead of maybe rather investing more in one or two to make them better games especially in light of their bad financials.
The Godfather II dated for U.S April 7, Europe April 10
3D is a gimmick and does not in any way enhance a film, unless you are a pretty shallow person who isn't interested in story, plot, theme, character or tone and simply wants to duck because an axe was thrown at the screen. wonderful
