I will say though ND is as great as they are (and Koj) because they do what they know best. It won't be a simple case of "ND build an engine for MGS", because if they don't want to do it, it won't be as awesome as something they want to do like Uncharted. It's a creative industry after all and this also brings passion. As lovely as all these people are, when it comes to their visions, not many are going to compromise.
So I would think you have to find someone talented, but also not as driven as ND if you want someone to collab with Kojima on MGS.
Two big heads [in a good talented way] together is just not going to fit one room.
I personally got no-one. I still think Kojima should always be the only one to make MGS. I mean I know none of this will happen and we are having fun with ifs and buts (lol butts), but even in a hypothetical situation I can't think of anyone.
But leaving MGS aside, if ND and koj agree on everything and are like "yeah let's do this game together", then of course hell yeah it'll be amazing.

Uncharted (2, at least) doesn't let you play stealthily (save for that crappy part at the beginning) which sours me on a lot of games. I understand it's not a stealth game, but there's plenty of non-stealth games that still give you the option and make it viable (Bioshock, Fallout 3/NV, etc). So that and the lack of depth and choice in the gameplay is what makes me hate the Uncharted series.
Anyhoo, I definitely think the Metal Gear series could benefit from some RPG elements, more customization (the Octocamo and weapons mods in 4 were a good start), and they should definitely bring back the first aid aspect from 3. I'll agree with the bit about the tides not changing properly in the war zones. That ticked me off a bit too. The boss fights in 4 were definitely not recycled though. They may have been inspired by battles from previous games (moslty because the boss characters were hybrids of past bosses; the whole game is one big instance of fan service) but they stood on their own. I would never want them to do away with the cutscenes, or even shorten them. As long as the story isn't told in hour long CODEC calls like in MGS2 (especially when the characters are in the same room, right next to each other!), I'm happy.
Bring back the soliton radar though.
And 3's stamina bar > 4's psyche bar.
I played it stealthily... Not sure what you're getting at there. The mechanics were there to choose how you wanted to enter into a fight. the level design didn't always permit it, but it wasn't restricted to one level by any means.
and what wiiU tech (feature) is it compiting with ?
have you read that 'article' ?
it's like only generall stuff that vita is out and there is cross-play functionality with ps3
"almost directly related to what Nintendo is aiming to achieve with the Wii U"
calling this site media is kind of exaggeration. One of the main factors playing a large role in gamer’s buying decision is the fact that cross-play functionality with the PlayStation 3 is promised to be fully executed allowing owners of both hardware devices to enrich their gameplay experience even further. As one who follows the gaming industry with close attention, the recent promotional materials being released by Sony touting cross-play functionality almost directly related to what Nintendo is aiming to achieve with the Wii U. Watch as I discuss the relation further and feel free to leave comment with your thoughts on the matter.
but the commenters are fun
the ps3 and vita cant do what the wii u can, which is 2 screens for a single game,
it cant do thatLOL
LOL both PS3 & Vita = SH*T
Xbox360 = Hardcore Gaming Console & Halo 4 soon to be revealed
did you watch the video podcast?
no. i was thinking it is just a picture.
well to be honest it is just a fighting game that can be controled
with vita but as i understand you have to own two copies of the game
and i can't really see benefits from playing fighter game on ps3 using vita
other than some gimnick touch moves
but yes many wiiU things if not all can be reproduced by ps3 + vita combo
we already know that
the advantage of wiiU is that it is out of the box
and nintendo will do a shitload of interesting things around that
it will be nice if third party games will bother to translate wiiU things to ps3+vita
but the best things will come from nintendo
it will be interesting to see what sony will do with it
will they really embrace it
or will it end up like move.
Just because one requires 2 copies does not mean that all of them will. The vita is perfectly capable of running something transferred to it from the ps3 without needing a second copy. Since the Vita has it's own build in CPU, GPU, and RAM, there wouldn't be much load put on the PS3 other than input and output of control information. You are right about Nintendo likely doing more interesting things with Wii U since they are bundled, but Sony is known for doing innovative things with their tech. If Wii U became a real threat to PS3's sales, Sony would push the hell out of PS3/Vita connectivity.
"But Wii U has the advantage of having it all bundled." is only true in a certain context. You must keep in mind that there are tens of millions of PS3's already out there. those Ps3 owners only have to buy a vita, which judging by nintendo's words will be cheaper than Wii U, to be able to have this functionality. If Sony were to find itself in a position where PS3 was losing ground fast to Wii U, but PS4 was not quite ready yet, I would expect to see them start pushing for that type of integration on all of their first party titles. In fact, we may see it anyway since it is a great way for them to sell a Vita.
If Sony doesn't heavily restrict the double dipping, it won't ever take off... I know Sony themselves already give you both copies of certain games already, but... if that's going to be like that in the future and if others will participate is an unknown factor...
Kept you waiting
why the heck would people even want to play COD with a Wii-U interface. The idea is great, but it's going to be Nintendo who makes it a must-have experience, not 3rd party. Third party titles are still d-pad/analog experiences, not gonna change with a tablet screen as a controller.
A slow game like Skryim could possible clear the TV screen up and all your stats/icons/UI is displayed on the controller, that's about as far as I see third party going with it.

“Had the religion of Christianity been preserved according to the ordinances of the Founder, the state and commonwealth of Christendom would have been far more united and happy than they are. Nor can there be a greater proof of its decadence than the fact that the nearer people are to the Church, the head of their religion, the less religious are they.”
"By their Fruits, you will recognize them..."
I know one game that would greatly benefit from the tablet. ME3 with all your powers mapped on the touchscreen = no more pausing the game.
i would say no. many of the features i've seen for the WiiU can (and i believe will) be eventually seen on the Vita/PS3 combo.“Just to have something on the touch screen in Darksiders 2 Wii U- we put the inventory and map systems on the controller – even that small thing makes a big difference,” he explains. “When you collect a new piece of loot, you just look down to see if you want it, and can equip it instantly. I can’t say for sure if that’ll be in the final cut, but it’s really cool that the gameplay experience never has to be broken up by changing out equipment.” As Ocarina Of Time 3D proved, touch-screen inventories can be transformative in their ease of use. Instant equip single-handedly turned the Water Temple from a soggy blanket to a wet-eyed wonder.
I'd love for them to implement an inventory on the Vita: a clear screen would always be a nice feature to have.

So if you don't eat pigs and we don't eat pigs,
Why not not eat pigs together?
But the thing is, 90% of the time I lose myself in the game and misplace the TV remote, how the heck am I going to keep VITA in sight? lol.
Guess less senile people can manage though
And maaaaaaaaaan what a relief. I hated hated hated hated hated my Slim PS3 from day one because of the fan noise (and no, it's not just mine, google it, people are saying it's pretty much luck if you get a quiet one or not), so anyway lately it's been annoying me even more. Not kidding, turned on sitting on the XMB for literally two minutes will make it kick it up to VERY annoyingly high volume.
Long story short: Vacuumed the fans, it's now been on for well over an hour, and is relatively quiet. Not as quiet as my shiny beautiful (but dead) 60GB [which was literally silent...maybe fans were broke and that's why it got ylod lol] but still MUCH more pleasant than before.
I hate noisy hardware. My number one pet peeve in the tech world. I don't game on my laptop because it kicks up the fans and pisses me off so it's great that PS3 stfu'ed a bit.
Anyway just a little story / tip (vacuum your fans) while I ready myself for the next SuperStardust run.
PlayStation Network Regular Scheduled Maintenance on Thursday
For the first time EVERYONE will be logged out (usually ones are online can stay online) and it's a pretty lengthy one. Hopefully testing very soon to come new features or maybe just VITA coming into the server needs a lot of back end tidying up.
But yeah whatever the case, heads up on 12+ hours of no PSN. Get your online fix by then.
Man... I don't mind the downtimes... but Sony should say WHAT THE FUCK THEY ARE DOING. Even if it's some banal "upgrading server arch. to includes PSVita PSOne downloads" or whatever...
Kept you waiting
They have scheduled many downtimes lately, surely because of Vita. However, GDC is coming soon and there might be some surprises... hopefully.
PSN ID: VGAficionado
Yup... I want a new nice PS3 update with "whatever" update... it's about time we get something fresh.
Kept you waiting
