I know I get flak for this... but I couldn't care less about Mario and probably most Nintendo games nowadays. When I was ten, I loved SMW and the Gameboy games, but I totally outgrew them...

Heavenly sword 2 rumoured details.

The original Heavenly Sword arrived as a PS3 exclusive very early in the console's lifecycle. Courtesy of developer Ninja Theory, the God of War clone acheived reasonable sales of around 1.5 million back in 2007 when the PS3's gaming library was threadbare. Ninja Theory has moved on to pastures new - now prefering to create multi-platform titles, so it will not be involved in the development of the second title in the Sony owned franchise. Clearly the second game will also be a Playstation 3 exclusive.

The second game is expected to be an open world sandbox affair set 10 years after the events of the original game. Missions are said to be replayable within an interactive environment (presumably deformable scenery and pickup and play makeshift weapons?). The titular 'Heavenly Sword' will not be with you from the outset of the game, this time around you are required to earn the sword by mastering a number of martial arts. Our guess is that you will start with the basic hand to hand style arts such as Karate and Jujitsu and move up to sword based skills like Kendo before earning the Heavenly Sword.

We're visualising this as a cross between God of War 3 and Skyrim.

Currently no news has been announced regarding a release date, nor has any media been released. Expect to hear more at E3.

I have a feeling this is one of the two projects Santa Monica is rumoured to be working on while the GOW title already outed is their second game being made for NGP.

Also i hope these details are true about going open world and more RPG like. Let GOW do the linear thing while Heavenly Sword goes its own route. Anyways we shall see if this is all true at E3 very soon.

A lot of eyes are on IW after the disappointing MW2. It's going to be very interesting to see what balance choices they make with MW3 and to see how they battle BF3.
IW's community manager's tweet is coming across the message that they've learnt many lessons from MW2 and that they are going for a mix between Cod4 and MW2. I got that idea because he kept replying to select queries like "yeah that was better in CoD4" or someone complains about perks over power and he goes "we have learnt a lot from MW2".

So yeah, gonna be very interesting, looking forward to it (if that 3 is indeed MW3).


F yeah for HS2 as well. One of my favourite new PS3 IPs.

^ I was under the impression that the new studio thats head up by the Dead Space guys whom Activision ( I forget the name of the new studio working on COD material ) poached from Visceral are making MW3 arent they? Have IW even had enough time to make this game considering the entire legal mess?

You might be right, nothing has been officially announced. But considering IW's community manager keeps replying to CoD related queries (without confirming anything), I would assume it's them doing it.
I mean if Treyarch got replaced it would be more understandable but IW are the main CoD guys so I highly doubt it...But ultimately, I dunno. We'll see when everything becomes official.

I'd rather see Santa Monica do something new than a sequel to HS... I mean... that's like contract work. They don't deserve this.

I really wonder what games Cambridge studios are working on. I want to see a Primal 2 or Ghosthunter 2.

little rumour : According to OPM UK GOW4 will feature multiplayer

Fresh gossip pertaining to the fourth numbered entry in the God of War franchise has surfaced via the pages of the UK's Official PlayStation Magazine.

The publication claims that God of War 4 is currently in development and will apparently feature some form of multiplayer component to boot: "Kratos is on his way back, with his next adventure set to feature multiplayer," the mag writes (via CVG).

The rumors follow hot on the heels of previous God of War 4 murmurs from PSM3, in addition to last week's rumblings stating that developer SCE Santa Monica Studio is beavering away on two new PlayStation 3-exclusives.

Santa Monica Studios has previously said that although 2010's God of War 3 pulled the curtains down on a trilogy, the company assured it's "not the end" for the celebrated actioner.

Damn, I wish they at least abandoned the Greek mythology. The engine could make almost anything they could make shine really bright, and I'm expecting more of the same.
