    Way to go Nintendo

I just recently bought a Ninny DS lite (black) because I was dissapointed hearing about problems with another handheld, I'm pretty sure I made the biggest mistake of my life when I bought the DS (yes, not much happens), I have 3 games so far with Pokemon MD:EoD, FFIV & Zelda:PH, these were the only 'promising' games I could find on the DS shelves aswel, as everything else was girly orientated (checked several gaming shops) or just the 'training' titles which aren't even 'games', I got the black DS Lite because I was told the polar white one would get grubby, but now my black DS lite is covered in fingerprints after a few plays. I found out that you couldn't use the directional buttons to move in zelda & you had to use the touch screen to do things on the field & then I find out the reason I have 3 stylus pens is because they eventually wear out & scratch the screen, why couldn't they have made it so I used to stylus to do the small things?
I'll turn this away from being a complete rant & ask you, are there any good suggestions for 2/2.5D DS rpgs? that won't end up driving me up the wall (using the stylus less)?

im hearing that 'the world ends with you' is a good rpg... never played it though

First of all, if you're buying a new system after doing little to no research you shouldn't complain when you don't get what you expected. I'm just saying, you could have ready absolutely ANYTHING about Zelda Phantom Hourglass and it would have told you that it's a stylus controlled game. And whoever told you that the white DS would get dirty is an idiot, because it's long been understood that glossy black shows fingerprints like nothing else.

As for game recommendations, I'm not a big RPG fan myself but the three DS Castlevania's are supposed to be really good, and there's a Chrono Trigger remake coming out near the end of this month.

Big thanks to Ihsiin for the sig!

I knew that it used the stylus, I just didn't expect it to be the main way of controlling link, since the handheld I had before this was the gba & they both have similar buttons. I'll probably just wait for Pkmn Platinum, & search some more then.

There are too many kick ass DS games to even list here.

I don't know why your game shops don't carry them. Try Wal-Mart.

Get brain training 15 and cooking school with garry glitter.

Lol, I'm getting brain training (if it even 'works'), cooking lessons aren't for me, I was pretty much just aggrivated when I played zelda, had my hopes too high. Might aswel delete this thread or keep it for some RPG suggestions.
When I went to the shops to search for some games, the smallest sections were always the DS games & they lacked any actual 'games' (just trainers, singers, guides & pets), I'm in britain anyway.

Another thing to consider, the entire back catalog of GBA games is playable and there's plenty of classics to play from there as well.

Stylus control was the reason I didn't buy PH.

I didn't like the control method after like 20 minutes with the game (played it on a friends DS).

There are good game though. Advance Wars: Days of Ruin is a really good strategy rpg, you have Megaman ZX Advent as a good side scroller, and there is always Mario Kart.

^I was going to mention Advance Wars, too. Those games are fucking awesome. And I usually cant stand strategy or RPGs. If you dont mind the cartoony style, go for AW: Dual Strike, otherwise the more fresh take on the game, AW: Days of Ruin (Or whatever, its called something different over here) is pretty awesome, too. I just prefer the more colourful approach.

Another one if youre looking for a different RPG is Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate. Read some reviews, though, because it isnt like many other Final Fantasy games.

Oh, and Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time. Probably the best RPG ive played except for maybe Paper Mario 2 on gamecube.

Also, give Zelda a bit more time. Once you get into it the controls will grow on you. And it really is an awesome game. As for the stylus' scratching you DS... well thats bullshit. They give you extra ones because its easy to lose them. Ive played through all of Zelda, and dozens of other games, and my screen doesnt have a scratch on it. As long as you look after it well itll stay nice and scratch free. My only recommendation is to use the official ones that come with the DS only. 3rd party ones are made of different materials that probably will fuck shit up.

It takes balls to buy a game that uses so much of your brain.

DSi is coming out "before August 2009" so I guess it depends how long you are willing to wait for a DS.

i did warn you. the stylus is always going to feature heavily in DS titles. DS is a great little handheld, but not for you.

try this for your DS and buy the PSP4000 when it comes out, regardless of whether the media knock it

    New DQIX Details Revealed
    01.06.09 - 4:58 PM

Square Enix has revealed some new information regarding its highly anticipated DS title Dragon Quest IX. Not unlike previous series installments, the Level 5-developed title will feature a variety of optional quests. One NPC might ask for a simple errand, while another might ask the player to find a certain piece of treasure or dispose of a particular monster. Players are free to take on multiple quests simultaneously. Moreover, the decision when to complete a questis entirely up to the player.

One NPC set to play an important role in Dragon Quest IX's storyline is a fairy by the name of Sandy. Despite being a fairy, she looks and talks like a "Shibuya gal."

In Dragon Quest IX's world, a World Tree symbolizing the world of angels does exist. Collecting Star Aura (which is obtained through the people's feeling of gratitude) will let the Fruits of the Goddess ripen on the World Tree. Those fruits are required to make the Heaven's Arc appear. The Arc will open up the path to the Land of God.

Dragon Quest IX will be available in Japan on March 28th for 5,980 yen ($64.57 USD).
