Sony has followed the lead of Nintendo and Microsoft, cutting the price of its console.
PlayStation 2 has been on top of the console pack since its release, with a year's head start on the competition. Given its tremendous success, Sony has been comfortable leaving the price of its console at $199.
Now, with pressure from Microsoft and Nintendo, Sony has decided to drop the price of its console to $149 dollars. This new price point will be for a bundle that will include the network adapter for online play and the game ATV Offroad Fury 2.
The competition has been heating up lately between Sony and Microsoft, with the Xbox capturing the sales lead from the PlayStation 2. Only time will tell how this new pricing strategy will affect the battle between these gaming giants.
