Thread: The Legend of Zelda

  1. The Legend of Zelda

The door is open on all old-school Zelda games (the limit is Majora's Mask). Discuss the greatest dynasty ever in its older days.

Who thinks that A Link to the Past is overrated?

ALTP is, IMO, the best in the series. Everything came together perfectly. The game design, gameplay, graphics, and story are all on the money big-time and it has even better resonance thanks to OOT. None of the Zelda games have ever been overrated. The underrated ones are the handhelds. Quiet brilliance exuding out of them.

I would've liked more games in the style of Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, everyone is so trigger happy with the cut scenes and 3D now...

ALTTP should be the bar that every game created is tested to.

  7. That, and Mario 3.

The original Zelda was the first grandmaster of game design. It was a position it held until a game called Super Metroid knocked it off the throne.

  8. during the NES/SNES days, I was strictly a Mario only gamer.

so, i first got sucked into the Zelda universe with OOT.
OOT holds a special place for me in gaming because it was such a monumental game....I remember all my friends and cousins ranted about this game so much before it came out...and the commericals coming on the TV 24-7....and retailers hanging OOT posters everywhere

so I like the 3D zelda gamers simply because that was my first true entry into Hyrule.
THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY ADDICTIVE ABOUT THE WII

I've always loved Zelda II, but I've noticed a lot of people don't like it. Granted, it wasn't nearly as good or as monumental as most other Zelda games were, but it's still a really fun game.

  10. Zelda II is the weakest entry in the series, but it is better than a lot of games. Fun and challenging.

LTTP is the best Zelda game ever.

  12. I'm not the only one who thinks this, at least.

  13. Zelda II has so much unrealized potential. If Nintendo took the system, balanced the leveling up, re-instated item collection, and threw party members in for good measure (SoM-style), they could have a winner on their hands.

  14. They should have played it safe, but at least they got it right on the gamble.

Nintendo should really make a remake of LOZ: ALTTP

No seriously. The game is cool and if they put it in 3D the right way it would be awesome. Of course they would have to add more stuff.
The sun shines on me no more.

  16. I disagree strongly. This game doesn't need to be updated. Its better than all of the 3-D games to begin with.

  17. I know this is "classic gaming", BUT I believe that Ocarina of Time was THE BEST EVER!!! Not only the best Zelda game but the best game of all time. The storyline was great, the gameplay, everything about it was memorable.

Now I know most of you probably hate me now but thats just my opinion.

I tried playing ocarina of time a few months ago and didn't really get into it, but I was bored the other day and started playing and now I'm hooked. It's really a good game. I haven't played any other Zelda games except for the original Zelda on NES.

  19. Actually, OOT is my #4 game of all time, so I can see where you're going.
