Missed this post. You have to do them all on one save, so that you get all of the epilogues on the chapter select. It's best to do them in the order that IGN gives, although I don't think it matters too much about where the one I mentioned earlier goes, because that ending requires going back the furthest.

  2. How many endings have you got left?
You've been playing it non-stop for like 6 hours or something.

Two endings to go, which I'll probably do now.

  4. Point 6

I don't think Madison knew who he was before the mom told her, she was just reacting to the revelation, in and of itself. Then she looked him up and went to his house.

    And about the fridge:

refrigerator's are pretty tough, especially heavy duty old style ones. But I'm sure it could withstand a propane explosion. Now, a nuke (looking at you, indiana jones), no.

There's a special kind of nerd though, who thinks computers will overtake mankind in thirty years, changing humanity in ways incomprehensible to us now, ignoring the third of the world without electricity. It gives spiritual significance to technology developed primarily for entertainment and warfare and gives nerds something to obsess over that isn't the crushing vacuousness of their lives.

Why would finding out the name be so shocking to her, when she had no idea who the person was? Just seems like an odd reaction to me, in that situation. She would've also had to rely on his mother knowing that his surname was now Shelby, and having the sheer luck of finding there was only one Scott Shelby in the entire phonebook.

It's all open to interpretation, and maybe that's what they were going for.

^There was something before or during that which was sort of weird, I just can't remember what it was lol. Otherwise I'm just remembering something that just wasn't there lol.

I think Lali is right though. It was just the revelation. Where the player, us, knows what she 'realizes' and it shows Shelby, but it was really she just finally pinpointed the name to get to where she needed to go.

Why would finding out the name be so shocking to her, when she had no idea who the person was?

Just to reflect the magnitude of the discovery, she finally gets the important piece she needs to continue, not that she actually 'knows' Shelby, to us the discovery is incredible, and her shock is just to show us playing like 'holy ***t! she found it!' or whatever

To say would it be realistic for her to react that way? Maybe we could infer she knows something of this detective Shelby vaguely being a reporter outside of the scope of the story's timeline, through her interest in the case or otherwise.

The problem I have with there being any magnitude to that discovery at all, is that all she's discovered is a first name. That's what she went there for, and that's what she got. There's not really anything so amazing that it would provoke a reaction like that. Especially as getting just one name doesn't narrow anything down, there's still potentially a lot of work to do before the real revelation happens.

But that's where they've been crafty. They made it so that you don't hear what she says, perhaps because they wanted it to be open to interpretation, or perhaps they were too lazy to fill in the gaps inbetween due to bad writing/lack of time/something else. Pure speculation, of course, and we'll never know. Clever kitty...

  8.
But she already knows the last name? Or Shelby's old last name, which is her last name, Shepard or whatever. So of course it narrows it down, no?

How would she know that his surname was Shelby? At that point, she would've known him as the brother of John Sheppard. The only way that she would've found out his full name, is if the mother had given her the full name. But as I mentioned earlier, I somehow doubt that she would remember the Shelby part, considering she couldn't remember that she even had kids at the beginning of the conversation.

  10.
There was no indication she gave the last name.

I thought the whole point was to get the first name from Ann, and nothing else.

Then just use that original name to find information on the current Shelby, from records of a name change.

Does she even find the Shelby name actually, or does she simply identify the home of the killer through his old name?

I honestly have to play again because I don't remember it too clearly how she even first thinks to meet with Ann Shepard, was that through some property documents?

The whole thing just doesn't seem right to me. It's the fact that she looks shocked, when she really shouldn't. I probably wouldn't have pointed it out if it wasn't for that.

Another thing just popped into my head. When Madison escapes from Shelby's apartment, she has the choice of calling Ethan or Jayden. But I'm sure Madison and Jayden haven't crossed paths at this point.

  12. Ya I asked the same thing about Jayden on the last page, I didn't understand that.

    Also,

Why did Ethan stop having blackouts? Why did he keep on waking up at the same street? Why did Madison always wake up at 2:47am?

All these answers, and more... never! :P

  14.
I think we could say he stopped having blackouts through the stimulation and drive in searching for his second son :P

Also, the search for his second son takes place on a relatively short time scale.

He also doesn't have blackouts after the game ends 'positively' I guess because his psychological state has changed for the better we can presume :P

Anyway, despite the massive walls of invisible ink on display here, I did enjoy the game!

  16.
also, where the fuck was Ethan's wife? Did they divorce officially after Jason's death? The game only said they separated, which, unless its' different in Europe, is distinct from full on divorce.

That's the only thing that really bothered me.

There's also one other thing they forgot to mention for Ending 6.

You need to have been arrested in Fugitive. When you get arrested the first time around, you have no choice but to have Jayden free Ethan. The second time you get arrested, at On the Loose, you can't be freed. After that, you can follow the instructions they give for that ending. I'm assuming that's what happens anyway, I haven't played through that one yet.

Edit: I think that's right anyway, arrrgh these endings are a pain in the arse!
