i just got a text from GS... heavy rain will be avlibe for pickup at 9am tommorow.
i bet ill be first![]()
We the people...
But I got $10 off :P After tax here its 65 something for a 59.99 game. Amazon = cheaper than retail, free release day delievery, and no tax
You most likely will be first, since thats 6am my time, plus ill be at my datacenter all day so I wont see the game till i get to the office around 6pm or so. I'll be working till 10 or so too..
Played the demo because I was bored. Man, it was great! I wish they would make a old school Resident Evil with this sort of atmosphere and background detail. As soon as I saw police cars in the rain with their lights up and whatnot, I was like... RESIDENT EVIL OMFG! Lol. Really awesome! Can't wait until tomorrow! XD
Also, I thought the movement was supposed to be 'tank-like' Resident Evil style, but it's not. It's based on the camera position, I was tricked! :S
I think I would actually prefer the tank-like style, I find it's easier to control like that in a tightly bound environment, assuming I'm using the isometric camera (you can sometimes switch to a 'follow behind the character' sort of camera too, not quite straight TPS camera) compared to other games of course Heavy Rain with realistic scale is clearly tightly bound, it would be cool if it were an option, maybe I missed it I hope.
I didn't find the English voices in the demo at all bothersome, I thought they were fine. If they are the same quality in the real game, I've got no complaints. But back to the game playing content... it's surprisingly intuitive and well timed... I was surprised how much fun I was having in all the scenes, especially the action scenes. They just ask you to press the right buttons in the right way and it feels like it just makes sense, it's quite awesome!
'Big guy' is easily my favourite character so far![]()
Yeah-yuhhh. Preordered it on Amazon early this month! It's in transit, and should be on my doorstep tomorrow!
Interesting. Must be a prime thing lol. I gotta sign up for prime ASAP!!!

I must say this game could have used another month to polish it up. Ive run into a crash or two and some bugs you dont normally find in an exclusive game from Sony. Nothing big or game breaking though!
Ah okay. Thinks for the info. Will have to look into getting a prime account lol.
That's sad to hear considering (I believe) the games been done for a while now. Hopefully it wont hamper the experience too much or occur too often though. And as zero 7 pointed out a patch is always a possible solution.

Just minor things like character clipping issues, very minimal tearing and some stuttering as happens some times in Mass Effect. The biggest issue so far though is the freezing. It has only happened twice to me but i hear its happened a lot more for others. Hopefully the freezing issue gets patched or maybe its because of the new 222MB patch i dunno but hopefully Quantic fix that soon enough. Like i said though i havent experienced anything game breaking yet and if i could stomach about 100 freezes playing through Fallout 3 then i think i can handle 2 or 3 in this game.
like i said: it will be interesting to see if this game sells consoles:

Sales for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 increased this week at Amazon.com amid the launch of the new interactive thriller Heavy Rain.
On Mon., the PS3 250GB SKU held a sales increase of 160 percent to rank No. 5 in Amazon's Video Games division.
Heavy Rain ranked at No. 1 top-selling product in the same period.
Heavy Rain, released Feb. 23, is an interactive thriller that will include four characters and a wealth of choices that determine the fate of each.
It holds a pre-sale price of $54.96.
Sony in Feb. said sales for the PS3 hardware increased in the third quarter due to price cut initiatives.
In the third quarter, Sony sold 6.5 million PS3 units, up from 4.5 million units one year prior.
The Networked Products and Services division, which includes the Playstation business, held a 1.9 percent increase in profit to 606 billion yen.
PS3 software sales increased to 47.6 million units, up from 40.8 million.
The PS3 has sold 33.5 million units to date worldwide.

great momentum going into March
Okay. Got you... Hopefully they'll patch it up quickly to solve the crashing issue.
And as a side note I got an e-mail from Amazon last night saying my copy shipped (and is coming from Lexington Kentucky...not far at all from here). The estimated delivery is the 27th but considering it's current location I can't imagine that it wont be here by Thursday (if not Friday at the latest). I knew it wouldn't take half as long as the initial estimates. I win.
@ cliffbo...great artical. I was confident that Heavy Rain wouldn't bomb or have disappointing sells as some would have you believe (still too early to say for sure though but it definately wont bomb by any means).
