What's the size of the demo btw?

That's really cool how they are supplying the demo like this, really nice.
I think it was about 1.8GB. I already knew that I was buying Heavy Rain on day 1 and the demo was exactly how I hoped the game would be.

It's not very spoilery either, so well worth trying.

Yeah I had to sign in to my EU account to get it. It's downloading incredibly slow though so hopefully I'll be enjoying it tomorrow...

  5. Damn... if it was 1 GB or so I'd get it... oh well, thanks for the info.

  6. Been very occupied with my PS3 and 360 as of late(snow storm and all). Managed to download the demo and check it out today. I gotta say..I love what Quantic Dream have done. It's pretty incredible. So intense at times. Completely understand what some sites have said about the acting, but it's not totally bad from the short scenes in the demo. I'm kinda spoiled by the terrific voice-over work from the Uncharted series but Heavy Rain isn't bordering on the bad quality of say Resident Evil in that department. It's passable.

  7. Ever since OG and now a few other people said it's not very spoiler-heavy, I'm tempted to get the demo...But I think I'll hold out and experience the game for the first time ever with the full version.

Anywayz, glad you guys enjoyed the demo (Lucid & OG).
19days...*sigh*....Oh well, uni should be loading me with work soon so time will fly by.

I had absolutely no idea what was going on when I started the demo (yes I've been drinking)...I've played both scenes and I am completely hooked wondering wtf I just experienced. I knew I wanted this game a year or two ago, but I just want to know wtf is going on! Demo=win.

Yea I feel the only real negatives this game will have is underwhelming voice work and possibly controls that take getting used to.

lol same here. I actually watched the demo gameplay on Gametrailers (couldn't help myself once I saw it was uploaded even though I told myself not to). So there's no strong reason for my to NOT play the demo but i'll still wait for the full game haha...

  11. Is the demo content in the full game? Because if it isn't, I'll make sure to download somehow.

  12. It is a small section from the full game, yes.

  13. OK, sweet, I can hold on that then.

Can't wait to see advertisements on TV for this, gonna be wicked awesome!

Just in case we get hit by the Heavy Snowstorm that Indiana's expecting and have little to do, I have the code ready to activate as soon as I make a UK account.

Because without the "1337" and "Cowboys!", we'd be the Wyld Stallynz.

I get what you mean about the controls. It really weirded me out at first and frustrated me in the second scenario. However upon my second play through after having some time to adjust to the control scheme, I settled in with it. I could actually see this method of control catching on with some refinements. Then again, we've only seen a small portion of Heavy Rain. I'm sure the full game will be much more intuitive.

Haven't played the demo but that's been the main criticisms I've been hearing (control and voice acting). Not many complaints but a few complaints about the controls being clunkly but appropriate for the style of game lol. But as you say it could very well work better in the final full game.

Oh and I was glad to see Heavy Rain as the most anticipated game of Feburary on the VG Chartz poll. Doesn't mean much (MAG was the most anticipated game of Janurary...over Mass Effect 2 lol) but good to see some buzz for the game.

After playing the demo I can say the game is a day one purchase.
I applaud Sony and the developer for attempting to bring something new to the table...

I agree the voice acting and animations seem stiff, but we are comparing it to titles like Uncharted and Heavenly Sword which set a new bar for ingame cinematics.

Same here. It's rare you find titles like this getting the attention they deserve and I love that Sony's willing to Publish a game like this and turn it into one of the PS3's "must buy" games.
