Has it ever happened to anyone of you, you go to play a game, you get into it and seconds after you watch a cut scene your PS3 cuts off and the solid green light gets replaced with a blinking red light. I don't believe this, just when I got the solid eye the system kicks the bucket.
Model 60 gig
Purchased on December 23, 2006
Game played while the incident occurred Metal Gear Solid 4
Game currently in system (trapped) Metal Gear Solid 4
Time of death 7:53am eastern (I was just about to go on a 8 hour game session)
This video displays exactly what happens when I try to use my system http://www.leechvideo.com/video/view139679.html
Damn how am i gonna get all my saves, whats gonna happen to my accounts.
The blinking red light means that something is wrong with the hardware, IIRC. It's in the manual. If I were you, I'd remove the HDD, then call Sony.
Of course, it might just have overheated, so try cleaning it out with some compressed air and starting it again before getting it fixed.

I need to get a good enough screwdriver the one I got gives me the feeling thats it'll strip the screw.
About compressed air, wouldn't it just blow the dust deeper into the system. I'll try to see what I could do.
No, as long as you know what you're doing, compressed air is great.

If you're worried about blowing air/dust deeper into your console try using a vacume clear on low. most vacumes come with a brush attachment. Put that on and put the cleaner on medium or high depending on how new it is :P and gently use the brushed end on the vents. the brush will free the dust around the vents and at the same time the loose dust will get sucked up.
Thats what i do anyway.

I have an option, I got a 3 year warranty on the system from Bestbuy. If I get the HDD free then I can get a replacement system, the store that I worked at had 80gig MGS4 system packs. If we get more then I probably can trade it in and get a new copy of the game and get another DS3 control while also saving my files and personal stuff from being shipped off.
Damn how limited are the MGS4 80gig system?
Yeah, the MGS4 bundle is just that, a bundle. Nothing limited about it.

yep Overload, the same thing happened to my original 60 GB system too.
JESUS is LORD!!!!!!
^SEPH, JAYGEE,
The regular 80GB MGS4 PS3 bundle comes with rumble DS3??? Yes?
Well, it won't stay forever, I'm sure, but it's like the GTAIV bundle. I think it'll be around for a little while.

Thank you all for your help, I just have to wait for the next shipment of PS3s and see what happens. I tried separating the HDD from that enclosure and 1 of the 4 screws got pretty striped, I swear its like its made of wax. Is there any good way to take out screws with striped heads???
A very small screwdriver. If I recall correctly they're pretty much the same screws as the ones used in PSP, you should be able to find a matching screwdriver on eBay by searching for "PSP screwdriver."

I used mine on all of em. On the top i sprayed it straight in. The back was more or less clear. Did it while folding at home was on so anything blown in that way would get blown straight out.
The front I did in all kinds of ways. After blowing it clear I realised that it was actually taking in air. When its clear you should feel a very feint coolness. Course if its not warm in the room you might not feel it.
Yeah, but blow into whatever vent you want while the fan is running, that will get the loosened dust out of the system.

My cousin's PS3 broke down like that too... except he was playing COD4 and it was a month ago.
He sent it to a repair place and they said the motherboard broke down. They said it would cost us $400 for them to replace.
My cousin chose to wait and buy 80gb MGS4 PS3 Bundle instead. Lol.
