I did, and they are. that's the ONLY explanation for the outrageous claims at the Microsoft conference. it feeds the machine well. one only has to look at N4G to see how a certain region just seems to only look at itself for the answer. they regularly post American and UK numbers up first (these get dozens and dozens of responses) these are followed a couple of days later by the European numbers and the worldwide numbers (these are usual barren threads). the blinkers are on and MS are providing them

That... or they were, in fact, lying.
I mean, I can understand them being proud of the fact that they always outsell PS3 in the US... or rather most of the time. And I am not counting that against them. It's just... if any other company would say such things... I mean, MS is a shareholder company, and they can be held accountable for "official statements" (and this sure is one). But somehow... nobody really cares, but me^

well everyone with an ounce of common sense always knew that VGchartz wasn't always accurate and got ignored by a lot of people, although it's all we have to go on. something has changed in the last two years. 360 owners would regularly quote their numbers to show that the PS3 was behind but just lately, as that gap got ever smaller, the 360 owners are ignoring them and reminding everyone that they aren't reliable... 'go figure' as they say. the point I'm trying to make here is I believe that 360 owners have now turned a blind eye to those numbers (official or not) and MS have noticed that, which is why they can confidently lie. they now rely on the mantra of 'America is the biggest market' and so automatically assume this means the 360 sells more.

Ah well... I don't even care what the "fanboys" say... I am just as guilty of turning a blind eye to stuff in the past. This isn't about the users, though. This is about the execs of a billion dollar IPO, the media and whatnot.

Documents appear to show PS3 Super Slim
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/20...ps3-super-slim
Documents have appeared that appear to show a PlayStation 3 Super Slim model.
Documents filed with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), spotted by Japanese website Pocket News, reveal Sony Computer Entertainment's plan to release a new PS3 model, labelled the 4000 series.
We're currently on the 3000 series. Specifically, the CECH-4001x model is mentioned, and this could relate to a slimmer PS3, which Eurogamer has heard will be announced at German game show Gamescom next month.
New PS3 models with 16, 250 and 500 GB appear in the FCC

So... Super Slim variant AND 16GB model... I smell "199€" at Gamescom (just as 299€ and Slim in 09).
I just wonder... 16GB has to be SSD. Will this be on board or a cheap ass 2.5'' SDD? I hope it's the former, and standard for all PS3s to come (similar to the 4GB model 360). Just get the cheap ass 16GB model and upgrade it yourself. Sony might as well directly go for the throat and price it at 149€... though I doubt that.

I actually wanted to write that, and not "has to be SSD"... I want it to be on the mainboard, not a small-ass replaceable thing put into the HDD slot.

I wish those PS3 and VITA figures were reversed. I get the feeling that those steady PS3 sales might delay a PS4 announcement and frankly VITA deserves better sales. Its a stunning little portable.
Assuming PS4 most definately comes in 2013, I can't see 2016 now (though that's 10 years right there^^)
