yeah, really slow numbers, even with crazy game announcements, I think the kids aren't sick enough of there DS and PSP, and gamers just aren't responding to it much...I should know, there's no game that's making me HAVE TO go out and get one either.
I think it's about time for Sony to start thinking economically. Even with no standout games, the Vita is a very attractive device, and it plays all your PSP titles, so it really must be the price people not responding too, with is absurd because apple sold a friggin MP3 for twice the price, although Apple store is a ton better than PSN, still jerked u to the moon with the hardware prices...

yep...YLOD. Had to take it apart to get the DVD out. Wiped the 640 GB HDD and put it in my laptop(Was 320GB). It was a launch and I am not sure if I want another PS3....yet(I can and will hold off if PS4 is B/C). Otherwise I may pick on up at the next good price drop.
I had just bought 3 episodes of Falling skies on PSN. Heard it was a good show. Got about half way through the second episode and boom....dead PS3. Had at least 10+ seasons of various TV shows on there. Hadn't backed it up in a while, and so lost a lot of the PS+ games that you can no longer download. Very disappointed in SOny's Back-up/Restore policy.

Yeah, YLOD burns you bad and Sony gives very little shits. Funny coincidence, mine died while watching a video on it too, and I too had lots of Seasons of TV shows stored. Had a nice folder and thumbnail for all of them

if you take out the HDD whatever's on there should work on your new PS3 right? Just curious...

from my understanding the filesystem is encrypted and will only work on the particular PS3 it was formatted on. If you insert it into another PS3 you are immediately asked to format it. You can back up games saves to the cloud and games to HDD. Video back-up is hit or miss at best(some you can back-up some you can't) and you only get one download per video...period(unlike 3+ per game). I could probably call Sony and complain and get some credits(I doubt they would honor my entire PSN video library), but that would require a new ps3 so for now.....I say fuck it....I'll get those season back elsewhere. Picked up a Boxee Box for some media entertainment in the interim(Wanted another DLNA device to free my laptop from its HDMI TV connection).

PSP sales have almost all but stopped from what I can tell. Maybe 3 more games coming out for the system. At my store our PSP section has about 15 new games, rest all used and very small section. DS is still selling some.....

GameStop has announced they will cut the PSP out of their shelf space completely from smallest 25% of their stores.
