Good list, though I don't agree with Fusion taking the top spot. IMO Zero misson was better than fusion.
Big thanks to Ihsiin for the sig!
Smash Bros. Friend Code: 4768-7238-0108
Mario Kart Friend Code: 2578-3745-5774
Wii Console Number: 7428-2244-6935-6135
Mario Kart wasn't all that great, yeh. It just didnt really feel like Mario Kart... Although it didnt show off the graphics of the system so early on.
I know its off topic, but I didnt like the comment about the Paper Mario games in with the Mario and Luigi. Paper mario on 64 and GC are totally awesome. Theyre better than the GBA/DS one for sure. (Although Im playing the DS one now and its is also totally awesome, just not as good).
I just realised that Ive played hardly any of those games. Ive played the first couple of hours of Minish Cap but I still cant find it for cheap around here (its still 60 bucks! fuck that). I havnt played any of the Metroid games or Castlevania. Golden Sun and Advance Wars are perhaps a little low on the list... But I guess I havnt tried the ones above them...
Good list though.![]()
Finally... Fusion gets the credit it deserves.
Superstar Sage was the only one on there that I actually played... but it was really fun ^_^
I hated it. Definitely the worst Mario Kart.
What I think is missing from this list:
1. Rhythm Tengoku - An absolutely amazing import. If you enjoy Wario Ware style games plus music, you will love this game.
2. Shining Soul 2 - This is an absolute blast multiplayer. Very deep as far as items go if you choose to go that route.
3. Sword of Mana - Although it could be argued as a port of FFA for GB, this is far far beyond that. There's a 2nd character entirely, not to mention like twice-the-size of stuff to do to complete it.
4. Sigma Star Saga - A shmup/RPG hybrid, and it is wonderful. After I beat it the first time, I sat down for another 7 hours straight and beat it again through new game plus. Though some say it's battles get repetitive, they are far less repetitive than a regular turn based RPG. Throw in the fact that storyline has some great political commentary... ah, this game is just awesome. (Obviously my favorite GBA game besides Pokemon).
5. Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire - My personal favorite games in the Pokemon series. Probably the games I played most on GBA. I don't see how one can leave Pokemon off the list. Ruby/Sapphire sold 13 million, with Emerlad version selling another 6. Come on. This is like the staple series of GBA.
6. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow - Though not as good as DoS, in my opinion, I played this game nonstop til I beat it (took about 2 days or something). The soul-collecting was so much fun and a great new twist on the series.
Yeah, totally agree. I played the hell out of Paper Mario and it was amazing. How anyone can call it dulll or lifeless is beyond me.
In my defense (or lack thereof) I tried giving Paper Mario a second chance when I played it for the VC and found myself bored out of my skull ten hours in. Just the way it goes sometimes.
All told, however, this is a good month for Metroid. Prime and Fusion swept the GCN and GBA lists. Metroid came out yesterday for the VC; Super Metroid is next week; Corruption is two weeks from now. The stars are in alignment.
Lucent, I liked your picks for the most part. I haven't played 1 or 4, I'm sorry to say, but I have heard some nice things about both titles. Can't play 'em all, but I try, given my meager funds. I liked Aria of Sorrow and it just missed the cut. Pokemon, bleh... the series stopped being fun for me around Gold/Silver. It all tastes too much like beans now. As for 2 and 3, they're good, solid picks.
And on a somewhat related topic, I had plans for an Xbox (15) and PS2 (20) list, but I think I'm going to forego both because I'm mentally shot just compiling the two lists and I would much rather focus on getting ready for school and working as the VC reviewer.

Wait, was Final Fantasy Tactics Advance on the list?
*checks*
What the fuck is going on here?!?! FFTA easily beats THPS.
You've got to play Sigma Star Saga... I even themed my MySpace after it.
NOOO, unmentally shoot yourself and make the lists anyway. They're fun to read and then think of what other good games there are.
I'll try, but if I do the list it'll be at least a month.

Holy crap. I wouldn't say it myself, but if someone were to call FFTA the best game ever, I wouldn't entirely disagree with them.
But this is just a series of opinions, and we all have our own, so there's no use telling each other they're wrong.
*would have added Fire Emblem 7 and Pokémon as well*
I would have narrowed it down to one Metroid game and added Final Fantasy Tactics too. That game was amazing. I would have also put Castlvania higher. Tony Hawks Pro Skater 2 was an awesome game when it came out, it captured the feel of the PSone version perfectly. As for Pokemon..I kinda felt that Ruby/Saphire/ were the weakest games in the series. R/B,G/S, and P/D were much better IMO
THROW DOWN! Super Street Fighter IV matches. PSN: whyneedasn
Guys, Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis >>>> Final Fantasy Tactics: Advanced im sorry to say. The story, the gameplay, the class system, everything was just so amazing in Tacktics Ogre.
As for the list, its certainly a good one and im glad you didnt include pokemon which, although fun, is just a lot more of the same.
