When I go into Browser and select the Memory Card, it loads the first 4 or 5 icons and then freezes the PS2.
Luckily I can still Load my games but unfortunately I can't make new saves since I'm out of space and I can't access the Memory Card to delete anything.
This has happened recently and I was wondering if there is a better alternative than just buying a new Memory Card.
Thanks.
An HDD, or a PS3.

....Or just a new Memory Card lol
I'll wait a week more on this thread before i buy a new Memory Card.
It may not be the memory card. It may be the ps2 or something. Try cleaning the contacts on the card and try it again. Though if it is reading in the games then I don't see the card itself as being corrupted. Try it on a friends ps2 if you have one or try another memory card and see if it will load.
My ps2 is possessed by demons. The memory card at least.
The save data randomly decides when it's corrupted and when it's working.
I know this doesn't help you, but you're welcome nonetheless.
My recommendation would be to get a fresh memory card and copy your data into it so you don't lose anything. Then just do what you can to try and fix your current card. At least then if something stupid happens and the card gets wiped/corrupted/otherwise screwed your saves are preserved.
You could also buy Datels Max Memory and export the saves to your PC.

Yeah I agree with TrueVCU, if you can copy the data, do it. You never know when something could go wrong if your memory card is faulty.
Other than that, if I recall correctly Gran Turismo 3 has a memory card utility in-game. So if you have that game, try seeing if you can delete stuff through there, although I'm not sure if it would also freeze or not? Anyone else know of other games that have in-game memory card management?
Thanks for the help fellas.
Yeah it seems the only thing I could so was delete saves that had in game memory card utility (GT4 and PES) so I did that to free enough space.
No, I can not copy.
I can not do anything from the PS2 'main menu' regarding the memory card.
After trying many things- It is now definite that the chips inside the memory card are a bit damaged but luckily it can load single files in game but can-not read the whole data in it in one go or something.
It's not the slot (tried my friend's memory card) so that's all good.
If I run out of space I'm gonna have to buy a new card but they are not that expensive now.
