Imagine lightsaber use with the Wii-mote and force powers with the nunchuck.

^That's how I've imagined it. Hold down Z and press a direction on the analog stick to use one of your force powers.

  3. Wouldn't it make more sense to choose your force powers by holding down the C button to choose a power, and then Z would activate it (press or hold) with the nunchuks motions to manipulate the power?...

Yes, motion sensitive force moves on the nun-chuck was what I had in mind when I said it.

Fillet a few storm troopers to with the Wii-mote and then use the nun-chuck to pick up a large box and hurl it at the others running at you.

Which now has me thinking of what the gravity gun from HL2 would be like with motion control.

I can't see the nunchuck working that well. Sure it'll be decent, maybe if you only have 1 force activated at a time, but multiple I'd say just stick with something practical instead of trying to be overly fancy.

I can imagine a dozen different simple motions that could initiate an action.

left, right, down up, forward, back.....that's 6 right there. Shaking back and forth in any of these directions gives you 3 more. Rotations and loops in both directions add 4 more. The acceleration of your motion can dictate the strength of the attack. Hold a button on the nun-chuck and you can essentially double that whole move set.

Move the Wii-mote and nun-chuck in tandem for Force Saber combo attacks.

Give me 20 minutes and use of the latest 3rd party motion control dev kit and I can map out dozens of motion based inputs.

  8. I'm confident in the Nunchuk's motion sensing ability cause I use it constantly in The Godfather Blackhand Edition.

That's exactly why I feel the way I do. That game proved that we've only scratched the surface of motion context input.

What I am saying is I am afraid the developer won't take the time to perfect them as Godfather and SSX seemed to. That is my concern...again about the overall quality of the inevitable game.

  11. That's pretty much the concern of EVERY Wii game though... the specific concern with LucasArts should be whether they will actually make a game which has some meat to it for Wii.

When we are worried that other companies wont take precious time to perfect the motion sensing compared to two EA games, it makes you realize what a change this generation has seen. Yikes.

No joke, It's EA to Lucas frikkin Arts. Worrying about them getting the control good is like worrying that the next F-Zero won't be fast.

Umm, EA isn't bad despite what everyone believes. They really haven't made a horrible game for Wii yet. In fact, most have been between exceptional to awesome.

Also, it appears this announcement, as expected, was for Lego Star Wars. That's cool, I want that game. But I still want this unannounced lightsaber game too. I just want them to spend a lot of time on it.

  15. The irony is that people are looking to the wrong place for a lightsaber game... Suda51 with No More Heroes is giving you more than LucasArts is...

Trust me, I love Suda 51 after Killer 7, and that's one game I am not letting slip by.
