A Game Boy Advance version of Treasure's revered action game Guardian Heroes may be in the works, according to solicitations from Japanese retailers. Amazon Japan is presently accepting pre-orders for a GBA game entitled "Advanced Guardian Heroes," with a release date of September 16.
Treasure is listed as the title's developer, although the entry makes no mention of a publisher. Treasure's games, on both Game Boy Advance and other platforms, have lately been published in Japan by ESP.
Originally developed for the Sega Saturn, Guardian Heroes developed a fervent cult following with its frenetic side-scrolling beat-'em-up action. The Saturn version of the game supported up to six simultaneous human players and a host of sprites slugging it out on screen.
If Treasure releases as official announcement, we'll be sure to jump on it as soon as possible.
Fort those of you who didn't get a chance to enjoy the Sega Saturn. Guardian Heroes is in my opinion the best 2D beat-em up ever created.
E-mpired out - PEACE!
