Tecmo Bowl makes a return to unspecified platform

    http://gonintendo.com/?p=17700

Attendees of Tecmo’s Nite Out were treated to a little retro goodness. The Vice President of Tecmo took the stage to show off an announcement trailer for a brand new Tecmo Bowl. Unfortunately, the trailer only showed Tecmo employees playing some classic Tecmo Bowl. The only real bit shown was the logo for the new game, and the info that is was coming out 2008.

Tecmo’s Vice President made quite an interesting statement about which platform the game will end up on…

“I can’t tell you what platform we’re making it for. But I can tell you that it’s probably not going to be on the platform that you’re expecting… if that makes any sense.” This 2008 game will not be a port. It’s a band new game for one of the new systems. But which one?!? “That’s one thing I can tell you for sure. This is going to be a brand new game for one of the new systems … We’re confident that the new Tecmo Bowl is going to be the talk of the town in 2008.”

  2. Is Tecmo Bowl a bowling game, fighting game, or what? I seriously don't know, but those are my two best guesses lol.

It is a football game that was awesome on the NES and SNES.

My guess is it might be on DS

^but you're expecting that. We've definitely been told its going to be on a console we wouldn't expect.

    So very awesome.

But yes, I'm guessing Wii and maybe DS. He said unexpected, and what better platform to bring back the oldies?

  6. I say it's on the Wii. I think they'll be attracted enough to the awesomeness that is pretending your Wiimote is a football.
