Ok, so whenever I can get myself £55 I will buy (this) Wireless network adaptor for Xbox live, now what I was wondering was, what are these 2 things:
Where can I find my IP for my wireless? And Where do I find the security key or whatever to type when I join up on Live? This is a nifty piece of kit. Clips on back of xbox 360, put in your wireless rooter's I.P address and security key (WEP or whatever you use for security on your wireless internet) & wireless online gameplay awaits you.
Thanks for your help![]()

Well it depends. You probably won't have to type in an IP address as it is probably dynamic and assigned by DHCP. If you don't have security you probably wont need a key either.
Yes it should.
Great thanks alot.
I'll add you on Live when I get it, if you dont mind that is![]()
When you get up, let us know if there are any major lag issues

When i put mine on i didn't have to do anything special except run my connection tests. I thnk....
I Would Advise Just Buying A REALLY Long Ethernet Cable.
Im Telling you,Its a waste of money.Just Not Worth $100.. try to find it Cheaper if you can..
Wireless Lags. If You're Good At Gears, You Will Suck With Wireless.
I Have The Wireless Adapter And I'm Selling It For $60 Because It's Trash. And Don't Try And Tell Me It's My Internet Connection, I Get 2.2Mb/s, And My Router Is Fine Also, Linksys Wireless-G W/ Speed Booster.
Then how come I've read loads of reviews for it saying that when you play on Live its lag free and can keep a steady ping?

The only problem i have with mine is my Nat and i think it's because i don't have the recommended router, but im not going to buy a new one just for live.
Oh Well, Believe What You Want. We Have 2 XBOX 360s, Both Have Wireless Adapters. I Didn't Notice The Lag When I Replaced My Ethernet Cable With The Wireless Adapter Because I Bought GoW, Oblivion, F.E.A.R., And The Wireless Adapter At The Same Time, So All Of My Next-Gen Gaming Started On Wireless, Prior To The Wireless Adapter Purchase All I Played Was XBOX1 Games. So, I Got Really Mad One Day Because A Friend Of Mine That Sucks Really Bad A Gears Was Actually Killing Me, And I Knew This Couldn't Be Right, So I Plugged The 360 In With A Cable, I Was Amazed At How I No Longer Had To Lead Shots, Where I Shot It Went. Now I Know You'll Try And Think Up Some Reason This Isn't True Or Something But I've Run Multiple Tests And Wireless is Terrible.![]()
Maybe your wireless configuration is terrible. You may be getting interference from other wireless devices too.
Also did you try making sure you were getting good signal strength? Going through walls etc will reduce the strength and yes, a cable would be better. But on some routers you are able to turn the strength up or down. I haven't tried the wireless adapter but am thinking about buying one.
I have the D-Link DGL 4300 gaming router and it works very well. I use it on my laptop and get just as good of speeds as I do when plugged in.
^ I Have Checked Everything, Wireless Just Sucks.
It shouldn't. Though it doesn't transfer as fast as wired (guess it depends on the speed of your router/adapter), it should never be slower then your internet connection.
I know if you are transfering over LAN wired is much faster, though I have never seen an ISP that offers 100mbps.
Wireless should make no difference unless you do not have your network configured correctly or are too far away from your router.
Gleeful do you have the router in another room and possibly have it going through walls? If so the signal strength may be weakened, though with wired it is always going to be at 100%.
