I believe it. Definitely good news for those who don't already have on.
I'll be interested to see if the difference in price ends up being a strong enough motivator to move units.

I still think it needs more and better games, but until PS2 dies and PSP gets more games tailored to it, I don't see it flying off the shelves yet.... just having decent sales, which is not bad anyway.

I'll buy it, just to play FF7 - Crisis Core.

We got an e-mail about this at my store and I can definitely confirm it's happening

I think this will do really good things for the PSP -- with only $30 between it and the DS, it's going to pick up a lot more people on the fence between the two, but then again they're both very different systems and I'm happy I own both

From what I've read, this is only a retailer price cut and not officially from Sony. It still might be but there is nothing to indicate it so far.

Sony truly needs to make this official. It's sad that a retailer has to take the initiative to do this.

Again I ask what are people talking about when they say more and better games? How much more? 20 more?

Time for me to buy another PSP my first one is showing it's age. You know what I think, the PSP should be renamed PS2P that way instead of be such a let down for having PS2 games it can be a let down for not having exact PS2 games code for code.

  8. Now it's time for worldwide pricecut, not only the U.S. please!!!

I wonder if the Nintendo will have a price drop for their Nintendo DS Lite too...? Maybe by the end of the year?

If psp's sale increasing significantly.. they will. if psp's sale remain unchanged even with this price cut, i dont see any DS Lite price cut

Official from Sony. At least for the US, the price is coming down to $169.99

In the the first two days following the PSP's price drop there was a 300 percent increase in the number of the portables sold.
That's what Kraptaku claims. Won't bother to post a link.

How did they come up with that number? I've read no official reports from any data collection agencies or Sony.
