Game Theory Podcast Feat. PHIL HARRISON!!!

Sony's Phil Harrison joins hosts Colin Campbell, Gary Whitta and Jeremy Williams for the launch of Game Theory, a weekly podcast that gets to the heart of the game industry. Harrison talks about the recent European launch of PlayStation 3 and his efforts to create a powerful first party portfolio of killer games. We also hear from Vince Desi, the man behind the notorious Postal series of violent shooters. And we discuss the week's big news events including allegations that Nintendo purposely held back Wii stocks; Xbox Live fraud and the resurgence of bricks-and-mortar game stores.

Phils the best PR guy, Reggie and Moore just seem to come off as being huge d0uches.

  10. That's not so! Moore is..well..not interesting and Reggie will eat your soul. Reggie is up in the ranks with Cthulu in the underworld (or so I hear) so that has to account for a lot in the business world. Give him some credit man!

GT: What about the games that are coming out this year, what are the 3 games that we should get really excited about, the killer Aps?

PH: Well depends where you live. From a US perspective, games like Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Lair.. those are going to be significant titles for the hardcore gamer. I think Uncharted, coming from Naughtydog coming out later this year will be a tremendous title for people interested in the action/adventure category. Ratchet and Clank series that’s coming from Insomniac, that’ll be their second generation title in the platform already which will obviously give them tremendous technical and creative advantages. And then a small franchise coming to the platform in the next 12 months or so called GT5 which I think should be quite well received. And then in Japan, there is a title called Eye of Judgement, which is going to be something that were going to announce in few more details in a couple weeks time. That, mixing camera based gameplay and trading card based gameplay, I think your going to see some very exciting announcements from us on that.

mocking people on how they look is unacceptable. nobody choses how he or she looks like.

Gotta love Phil, sure he does PR but at least he knows what he is talking about.

BTW, did he just say that Africa would be released this year (Japan)?

It would be the ~17 SCE WW published PS3 title confirmed for this year (including already released titles, no '06 titles like Resistance included).

EDIT: "Big" games, not Calling all Cars and Super Rub-a-Dub.
