Thread: Super Scope...

  1. Super Scope...

Remember the Super Scope in Super Smash Bros (Melee)?

Well, I remember a long time ago, before SSB, hell, before N64, and I saw a Nintendo Super Scope. It was a game system shaped just like the Super Scope in SSB. It was like a bazooka, and you held it on your shoulder. To play games, you looked through the scope. Thats the only time Ive ever seen/heard about it. Is it a real system, or did I hit my head really hard as a child?

Yes, I have one. The games for it were Yoshi's saffari, Super Scope 6, and some others. To play with it, you plug the reciever into the second controller pornt and put the little reciever on top of your TV. It's takes like 4 AAs and only lasts about 6 hours.

    EDIT: Moved to classic gaming.

I still have mine. i hardly ever use it becuase it chugs down batterys way to fast. I They should have let your plug it in so it doesn't waste them. But its still fun. You need a big tv and it needs to be eye level though. Maybe not as fun as Duck hunt thing but still alright. Worth it for 10- or less. Remember you also need the game and the little adapter thing that sits above your tv to sence it.

  4. Sweet, I want one now, as a novelty

My brother had one, but I need my own now, if I can ever run across one. I have one Super Scope game: Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge (a sequel to Battle Clash). It was really cool.

I have Battle Clash. That was such a cool game.

I have a Super Scope, but it has now deceased.

Yeah, I loved Battle Clash, which is why I couldn't help but get Falcon's Revenge, because it's even cooler. I think a few old foes return in upgraded, improved ST's (Standing Tanks), but there are a lot of new ones, with more foes altogether than was in Battle Clash. You have a lot of new items to use, too, plus you unlock a second playable ST after beating the game with the first. If you liked Battle Clash, you've got to try Falcon's Revenge.

By the way, Gopher, Super scope wasn't it's own system, it was an accessory for SNES.

I want to play mine right now, but I can't because my RF switch for my SNES died.

i think mine works good, but Im not about to cough up the 6 huge batterys it takes to run it. Which it only lasts about 4 hours it seems. Wow never new shotting light was so hard. Like i said, I prefer the ol nes one anyway. The games might be better on teh super scope but beiase its not plugged into the systm they have to have this box thing you put above your tv, and it never seems to hit exactly where i want it too. Plus i lost the eyepeice on mine making it impossile to aim properly. I still dig it out, about once a year or so, just for kicks.

I thought it lasted longer than that. I know it gobbled batteries, but I didn't think I had to replace them that often.

and it never seems to hit exactly where i want it too.
Did you ever adjust the targetting? I recalibrated every so often while playing, as even simply moving a bit can dramatically alter your aim.

I remember playing Yoshi's Saffari when a friend rented it. He was controlling Yoshi while I was doing the shooting, and I kept shooting his Yoshi in the back of the head. He kept looking back at me wondering why I was shooting him.

From early into the game or later on? It's been forever since I've played either Battle Clash or Falcon's Revenge, but I think I used to power up shots for offense and rapid fired for defense against incoming enemy fire, though powered shots were required for stuff like arms launched at you. I went for critical limbs, I think, depending on who I was fighting, trying to disable them as much as I could as quickly as I could and then worked them down from there. I horded my super bombs and stuff for later fights.

Never ask a man if he is from Texas. If he is, he will let you know. If he isnt, there is no point in embarassing him.
