My Wii remote is devouring batteries.

Okay, so I've put about 38 hours into my Zelda file, and my brother has about 14 in his game. I've also spent about 2 hours playing my friend's Wario Ware.

So that's 54-56 hours total that my Wii remote has been on, and I've had to change the batteries three times already. Is this supposed to happen? What should the average Wii-mote battery life be with just standard Duracells? I can remember back in the day when I'd get 40 hours of GameBoy Pocket game time with just a pair of AAAs and now the Wii-remote is eating AAs like a woodchipper. I ask you, what's the deal?

Turn rumble off and you will notice a significant increase in battery life. I have changed out the batteries on my wiimotes maybe 3 times on the main used one and 2 times on the 2nd one. The 3rd one rarely gets used so its still on the original batteries.

You will save money. I thought that Nikko or some other 3rd party was coming out with rechargable batteries and a base station of sorts but i havent seen anything more of it nor release dates.

I use cheap batteries from Ikea, i have a few boxes of them and they are mad cheap.

Here is how you turn off rumble http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sys...ote.jsp#rumble

I got these rechargeable battaries from Duracell. The box says they last 16 hours on a one hour charge, but I got through the entirety of Wario Ware and Red Steel and still have 2 bars of life left.

    You'll save alot.

Nintendo doesn't recommend rechargeable batteries, but says if you want to use them, NI-Mh is the way to go. but, i have no real source, just internet links to a dead page from Wikipedia from the Wii-mote section. :|

BUT, thats what i have been using for a while now. ull save money as well.

"Important Note: If you would like to use rechargeable batteries, the only type of battery recommended are Nickel Metal Hydride batteries."

Go to gamestop. Starting like 2 weeks from now they are selling a third party Nyko Wii Charge Station. It has 2 docks and 2 battery packs so you can charge 2 remotes at the same time. As a bonus it has 2 rubber battery covers in case you are one to break your television via wiimote.

mmmm... I'm not sure exactly what it is, but for thirty dollars I got a set of 4 rechargable batteries that have a 15 minute recharge time. They're Durecell, I suggest you get those, should be easy to find

Get the Nyko recharge cradle. Very convenient and looks good. Pop the remotes on the cradle when you're done.
