what PSP version do i buy?

im looking to get a psp, but dont know if i should get 3.0, 2.0, etc... and where to get each. if someone could explain the differences, id be extremely greatful!

Well unless you are going to buy it off ebay, you really won't have much choice, just luck of the draw. If you want to do homebrew and have the greatest number of options open, then you ideally want 2.71 or before. If not, then you might as well upgrade to 3.00 so you can play PS1 games in the future, and have some cool visualisations when playing music.

As for the differences, it would take quite a while to explain all of them, so I will only cover the main additions:
-2.00:-internet browser, various new music codecs, AVC.
-3.00:-flash, ability to play PS1 games, improved song skipping, visualisations, Ptv, RSS (video and audio), camera support, PSP game demos.
