Thread: So....Hows your PS3?

  1. posting from my PS3! woot!

There's a special kind of nerd though, who thinks computers will overtake mankind in thirty years, changing humanity in ways incomprehensible to us now, ignoring the third of the world without electricity. It gives spiritual significance to technology developed primarily for entertainment and warfare and gives nerds something to obsess over that isn't the crushing vacuousness of their lives.

I'm starting to change from jealous to angry for you people whining about something I'd be more than happy to play atm instead of lot more tired, old FPS's. Grr.
So many games so little time..

    ^^^^

You shouldn't feel angry. IMO you should feel relieved that.. IMO the PS3 isn't a must have at its launch. We know this won't be the case for long, but as of now a PS3 at launch is for bragging rights.

Sony is going to trickle in PS3 regulalry so I bet you'll get one sooner then you think if your actively seeking.

The country is Finland, northern Europe, so I'll get a chance to put my grubby paws on PS3 earliest in March next year :P

Otherwise I would already own it (I guess)

Has anybody played any ranked games in RFOM yet. It's always looking for a game.

As far as the heat issue, my PS3 was running for about 12 hours straight and the heat coming out of the vents by the BD player seemed to remain the same. Yes I thought it was kinda hot but I guess that it's a good thing that it's coming out and not staying in?

My PS3 did freeze once, it was when my son was doing a sub account and in the middle somewhere during the steps it froze. I turned off the power in the front, let it take it's time powering down, restart and redid the sub account with no more problems.

So a good thing is I don't think a PS3 will melt like a candle and drip on the floor.

I,ve been playing around the PS3 for about a week now. So far the system runs fine...well, sort off.... I try to play FF12 with it. It runs ok in the begining. after a couple of hours, sudenly the screen stop. I can,t do anyting about it. I restarted the system again, and the system got back to normal (thank god ^^ ).I can play FF12 again ^^. maybe it just a firmware problem.

The XMB is very functional but its not by any means overly simplitstic. The categorization is nice but navigation can be a little tricky at times (although this will ease as the user becomes more accustomed to the interface). Im not seeing much in the way of personalization right now, the background changes depending on the month and time. You get to choose a list of preselected gamerpics which is nice. There may be some added functionality with the eye toy but I dont have one so Im unsure right now.
