VC games and Classic controller = No rumble!

The Classic has no rumble period. And the Virtual console games don't translate the rumble for wii use.

When Star Fox 64 arrived on the Nintendo 64 in 1997, it came bundled with a Rumble Pak. The Rumble Pak plugged into the Nintendo 64 controller and provided force feedback in the game, punctuating moments when you crashed your ship or were struck by enemy fire. Force feedback in games has since become an industry standard.

The Classic Controller, a first-party accessory that can be used for playing Virtual Console games, does not feature rumble motors or force-feedback support. Most Virtual Console games can also be played using the GameCube controller. The GameCube controller does have rumble motors, but force feedback will still not be supported in Virtual Console games.

The CVG report can be found here.

It has also been announced that Virtual console games DO work with your wavebird/wired and you can buy those special video cables at stores; not just online.

Actually, no rumble is loss of rumble.

Maybe they could add vibration functions for N64 games with a software upgrade in the future. Unlikely, I know... but it's possible.

At least some games just wouldn't be the same without the rumble feature. I guess playing them without vibration is better than not playing them at all, but playing them with the rumble in tact will still always be better.

Disappointing. I'm less interested in N64 on Virtual Console than ever before. This is an unfortunate loss.

Great news about the cables. I'll be picking up a set with my console.

    well....yes and no....

you can use your credit card... ...but you still have to buy the Wii Points with your credit card from the Wii Shop Channel first... afterwards you can use those points to buy the games.

    Just a technicality really.

About the no rumble... ...what I am confused about is the fact that Nintendo has stated that the games code has not changed one bit... if that's the case... then why don't controllers pick up the rumble code that should still be embeded in the games programming.... perhaps the 64 rumble and the way it was read/encoded is too different from the Wii/GameCube controllers???

I am not really dissapointed or anything...but I do like having rumble... That said, it won't runi any of the games by not having it.

I dont know how reputable that source is. But the wiimote itself plugs into the back of the classic controller right? So their very well could be rumble. There is no reason that they wouldn't include it as i'm sure rumble doesnt make the filesize any larger or anything (kilobytes maybe).

edit: hylian the way the n64 remote uses rumble is different then the wiimote and gc. But since the code is the same, the only thing that would have to support the rumble would be the emulator they are using to play the games.

^well...that's sorta what I was trying to say....but I wasn't sure how the tech would all pan out... The controllers have rumble....and the code does too.... so your right...it's only a matter of having the emulator pick up the rumble. Which doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do... I don't know why they would nix the good vibrations.

And this information came from an interview and was reported on multiple websites... so I am prety sure it's true information.

Rumble has never even been all that useful. OoT was the only game that it was the most useful. You got 10 skulltulas and it gave you the stone of agony. The stone never notified you at all that besides rumbling. Just like dual joysticks unless more games are actually more useful for them then it shouldn't matter if they're there or not.

Useful? I think you're missing the point. For some of us, it's a big loss.

This was also on PlanetGamecube, so I believe it, not to mention that I wasn't expecting rumble on these games.
