PS3 shipments CUT (gamestops/ebs)

well just got word , sony is undershipping. Instead of 16 units we are getting 8. Other stores got cut worse . One store when from 18 to 8 and other is now only getting 2 units launch day.

Calls are going out today/ tommorow with the stores affected which are most of them.


Also a New Jersey Gamestop Manager was fired for voicing displeasure with sony and thier practices with the local Paper "The Record" .

Sears(mine) hasn't even been informed of whether or not they are getting 1 console, let alone 5-10!

Fry's is "not allowed to comment on the number of units available," but are only selling $1000 bundles, allegedly.

Wal-mart said they were getting 10, but the guy was an idiot and I didn't believe anything he said.

I think I am going to camp out at CompUSA

I will get numbers from stores the day before and make my final decision(of where to camp)

Yeah I heard this today aswell. I was at gamestop playing the wii when I heard the info. The one here is apparently getting only 60% of the pre-orders. 2nd shipment is supposed to be in before Christmas though.

I heard though that walmarts are supposed to get 10.

What makes you think it is intentional, they don't need to ship less, 400k is small enough already, they are probably having more problems with the BD laser.

That or they decided to screw gamestop/ebs (gauranteed sales) and instead put the units in other stores? I mean sony is the one that gave gamestop/eb the numbers for pre-orders.

Oh shit! That would suck. All of them said..."Will ship on November 17th via 3-Day" or something. Looks like people can now legally cancel those if they realize PS3 isn't worth $2000...

I also can't say I didn't expect this. I was pretty sure it would happen. Makes me happy to have ordered a Wii.

thsi is the article the guy got fired for. He stated there may be as few as 200k. Which is a 100k less than I heard. But whatever. He was fired yesterday because of this

Supposed to be a safety issue or something. My gamestop is no longer having a midnight opening for PS3 because they dont want anyone getting mugged or anything.
