^ So if the WWII game has aliens in it, you're all game for that? Haha

I would say its hard to RESIST a certain WWII game that comes to mind.

After watching the video review I concur these images don't do the game justice.

    Still ain't buying it though.

Actually Resistance is set in the 1950s, WWII ended in the 1940s.

Yeh this sounds awesome. I cant wait to see that awesome blurring in motion. I know Ill be getting myself killed alot because I want to look at the awesomeness of the blur instead of actually shooting the guy.

This is my preference over Gears of War, btw. Oh, and a while ago I had very briefly played about 2 or 3 WWII games tops and was already bored of them. Then I got COD2 and was blown away. WWII things usually bore the shit outta me but theres something about COD that was just awesome.

And this shouldve been in the 360 section...

Just goes to show I want this game as my first PS3 game... but dont even know that much about it haha. I was expecting some WWII game where the axis and allies join together in a unified resistance against a much greater threat that is some sort of alien race.

Can I recant any bad words I ever said about Call of Duty 3. It freaking rocks.

    Why?

First up, Call of Duty 3 is the game that best uses the sixaxis. It uses it better than Resistance, way better than Resistance. You use it to...

Steer the jeep. It's easy. If you want to use the analogue sticks you can, but the cool thing is to hold you sixaxis upright and use it as steering wheel, it automatically switches. This is cool. Resistance should do this, Motorstorm should do this.

You get into fights with Germans and have to use your sixaxis to rock your gun back and forward in the struggle, so cool.

You twirl your sixaxis to screw in a detonator.

Pump it up and down to stop from falling off bridges.

Jerk the controller up and to the left to melle a dude.

And finally, use it as a oar to paddle a boat! I think when I saw the boat paddling I really flipped. Best.. conversion... evah...

And the actual game is great man. I've even been playing it online, and according to me no voice chat is a feature, not a bug. No 14 year olds screaming for chocolate milk, it's why I like Mario Kart DS online.

(Although it's been updated, so maybe it does voice chat now. No idea)

You know, the way it uses the sixaxis so well it's like Call of Duty 3 is actually the exclusive title. Resistance looks better I think, but Call of Duty 3 is more of a PS3 game that uses the system better. No kidding.

    COD3:

Great title, I think it's a must buy with the sixaxis use, it shows you how a modern motion controlling game should be done. And beautiful too man, just one notch below Resistance.

Treyarch(?) the guys who did this need to get way more pats on the back from us for making a rocking conversion the way it should be done, using the PS3 to it's fullest. They rock.

Great review Apple...I might check out a used copy just because of your post....Of course VF5/Resistance will be my first purchase, but I had the PS3 version as the tard pack of the bunch, nice to see it's really not that serious and a great enjoyable game to boot.

I read somewhere that the framerate on PS3 is a bit worse than the 360 version in certain areas. But I think the lighting is a lot more realistic on PS3, the colors are not as saturated as the 360.

And from what Apple said, the SIXAXIS use sounds awesome!

I'm only about half way through it so I'm wondering how they're going to use the sixaxis next, there's bound to be some suprises left.

I think they made the Wii version and thought "We can do most of this stuff in the PS3 version too".

And it's real easy to get online games too, and I never get lag from New Zealand, it's perfect.

I've no doubts this is the best single player experiance you can have with COD3 on any machine.

I think COD3 looks a notch better on 360, but they both look great so, you know... Awesome is Awesome. I prefer the PS3 version.

^Any framerate problems with the PS3 version? All the reviews I've read mention this!

The framerate issue was the main reason I was going to give COD3 a miss in favor of RFOM.

360 version is 60 fps, PS3 is 30 fps, but I haven't noticed any slowdown, it's stable as far as I can tell.

I wonder if the 360 version has any slowdown running at 60 fps?

There's no demo on XB Live, I'd love to do a comparison on the same TV, going by videos the 360 version does look better, but you never know until you see it with your own eyes, so many dudes with an axe to grind out there.

Sixaxis is the defining factor that puts clear water between the PS3 and the 360 in terms of thirdparty games, just wait til we see first and second party games, they won't even be on the same planet.
