Help me pick a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse

I searched but couldn't find an analogous thread. I'd like to get these accessories ahead of time in preparation for the 17th. So what bluetooth keyboard/mouse combo will you use for the PS3? What solution do you envision for using the mouse while sitting on a couch? A book on a pillow as a mouse pad? Thanks for the help!

I should note, that Bluetooth keyboard/mouse support hasn't been officially announced. Right now you may want to keep it USB to play it safe - I'm not sure if BT k/m combinations will be on the general Bluetooth profile list, as they're rather esoteric solutions that cost about ~$100.

To be honest I'd wait a little until after launch before deciding on any peripheries. There's bound to be some compatibility issues that crop up and once the thing is in the wild people will test the hell out of the thing. Recommendation's will be a lot more reliable.

This is my Bluetooth mouse: Logitech Mx900

I'm very satisfied with it, but I'm afraid Logitech isn't manufacturing it anymore. You still might find it though.

However, I'd rather wait and see what happens with various USB and Bluetooth K+M. I for one will be using a USB keyboard or a PS/2 keyboard with a USB adaptor when possible.

Thanks for all the advice! I guess I'll wait until after lauch. I'm just hoping one of the developers decides to do a RTS w/ a mouse/keyboard option for the PS3. BFME 2 really is the only game I envy the 360 at the moment... (even though that game doesn't have keyboard support).

kb mouse combo you know can run in linux, is an obvious thought. An after thought may be a gaming mouse keyboard, ofcourse, because your a gamer with a ps3!

Make up with USB KB/Mouse until their are recommendations and sob stories(my condolences in advance) of expensive purchases gone to hell.

I think liverkick nailed what I am trying to say here so I'll quit this post right here and let you read his again. lol

avoid the mx5000 at all costs. it eats battries, double types letters and is a pain to pair.

Anything but the giant weighs a ton Bluetooth Microsoft Intellimouse I have in my cupboard.

Me? I'd buy a version 1 wired Intellimouse explorer. Not the new ones. Logitech make real nice mice though.

that is the most perfect keyboard for visual studio I have ever seen. if only it could be configured to fast switch h and cpp files, I would be in heaven.

I have the same mouse (with keyboard combo) except its infrared... or whatever the normal wireless mouse tech is

  13. I use trackball and was wondering if anyone has a link for a wireless one. I can only find the standard mouse in wireless.

    Thanks guys.

    CreativeWriter,

Bluetooth Keyboards have been confirmed working with PS3 in the latest episode of 'On the Spot'. You can go to Gamespot and check for the OtS episode dated 10/26/06. It has a detailed walkthrough of retail PS3 XMB done by a Sony Rep among other things.

BT cellphone headsets working with PS3 confirmed too.

logitech mouses are great! i've got a basic $20AU optical one, had it for about 8 months now, hasn't missed a beat. It cops a fair bit of punishment, i play CS occasionally, so its been smashed against the desk a fair bit

    a nice, light mouse.
