It just looks like an option to adjust the button confirguration for menu options or perhaps the pressure sensitive options...

That's quite interesting. But remember that's a picture of the development kit interface, so that could maybe refer to the ability to turn on and off some buttons, or pressure sensitivity thereof, or whatnot. It may not be meaningful for us consumers since that's not the consumer interface.

Stuart, I've fixed the post for you. It's a security measure to keep people from spamming.

If that's on a dev kit, it could alter all kinds of things. I doubt it gets a consumer release though.

I'd assume this lets you switch the controller button mappings between Japanese/Korean (X -> Back) and everybody else (X -> Confirm).

I love X -> back, I had it on my psp for a very long while but eventually changed it because it confused people and it confused me when using other's psp.

Yea i agree, its probably just switching between cancel and confirm on the X and Circle buttons

i would be guessing at button sensitivity.

However, just a point. Why is controller settings under a ps3 icon. wouldnt it have a controller with a spanner next it?

I think its akin to the Xbox 360 "standard" control configuration. For example, you can have a standard configuration for all of your FPS'es. You can have a different configuration if you want.

    Or, pressure senitive options?

I sure hope you can set standard controller configurations in the PS3 settings. However, I don't think this is that as the logical name for it would be "Controller Configuration" rather than "Button Behaviour".

Another thing that puzzles me is that the Icon to the left of the spanner icon shows the PS3 itself rather than a controller icon which I think would be more logical if it were something to do with the controller. Could it mean button behaviour on the PS3 itself? Perhaps lit or unlit buttons on the console?

Yah it probably is about the behavior of the buttons on the PS3 itself. Such as the eject and power buttons, maybe you can disable them or something.

  14. Maybe it makes the buttons vibrate ;-)

maybe you can chose between turning it on by the system, control, or both. Which would be useful to check considering this isn't the commercial release

I think you're on to something. It could very well be to set the behaviour of the Home button (or Playstation button or whatever the one between the start and select buttons is called).
