Ok, bad-memory problem:
I remember that Nintendo said something about games being made for the virtual console, but did they mean by users and how?
Also, MS just (or is going to) started selling some SDK for the 360 so you can make games and release them yourself (a la Xbox Live)?
If this is true, then did MS just copy Ninty?
If its not, can someone correct me?

Ok off my head there was a 2600 game cartrige that had Basic on it and allowed you to make your own games. (very crappy crappy games)
More recently there was a system called the Net Yaroze in 97

No Microsoft did not just copy Nity.
I think the correct way to look at it is that the concept of leting users make their own games for a closed box is not at all new.
All three have said they are gonna support homebrew in some fashion.
