Starting playing Donkey Kong Country Returns on Dolphin on Windows. It's one of the games that has controller issues, so playing with a Wii controller you constant disconnect messages. Only way to play it is with a 360 controller, and the movies are broken, sound a bit buggered, and... Well I just thought ***** it, and bought...

New Sexy Black Wii with Mario Kart + Steering Wheel
    New Super Mario Bros
    Super Mario Galaxy 2
    DKC Returns

There be some good gaming here. With the game the console cost about $140 NZD, or $100USD.

    May get Kirby as well.

I like my HD TVs and the 480p is making me go "Ow! Ow! My eyes!" but hell what you gonna do.

The pointing is still broken and total s**t. But I won't be going much of that on the platformers I'll be playing so that's OK.

Not sure what else I'll get. Everyone says Skyward Sword's borked controls get on your flipping nerves.

    Liking DKC Returns a lot.

    Back from more shopping, got....

    Kirby's Adventure, Woohooo!
And the violence pack. I like violence. About $30.
    It has...

    Mad World
The Conduit (Probably sucks, like one of those 3 dollar shooters I buy on Steam but with bad graphics and borked controls)
Project Overkill. Know there's a superior PS3 version but this was cheapy cheap.

Selection of games was very very poor. All Fitness with Mel B and Happy Feet Mini Game selections, makes you weep for the future of gaming.

But with the good shit, New Super Mario Bros, DKC Returns, Kirby, Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Mario Kart I'm well sorted. Quality gaming son.

Well I could probably sell it for a tenner.

Top tip, when playing Super Mario Bros, especially the later levels, if you pull out nose and ear hairs instead of your other hair at the end of a session you'll wind up beautifully groomed.

Got Sonic Generations running on my big PC rig... Wow... It's a Sonic Game, and it doesn't suck. Is this 1993 or something? Does not compute....

All the little creatures in the Megadrive Sonic games all beautifully animated with super nice textures, really fast and fun.

Maybe Yuji Naka was on holiday when they made this and couldn't screw it up. :O

The it gives you a mega chub for the Wii U, you'll be playing 2D Mario, Kirby and DK with this good graphics.... :O

    Awesome...

Played through the first two hours of the Conduit. Really is a remarkably ugly game, it's kinda like the elephant man of games. Animation is laughably bad, AI is hilarious, not that there's much use for AI as if there's more than three enemies onscreen the Wii has a seizure. Can't really surround you. Aiming is horrible, really floaty, would play way better with a proper controller, mouse+keyboard or dual sticks. Voice acting is also terrible, couldn't care less about the lame story.

My sexy Panasonic Plasma does this game zero favors, that TV can usually make anything look good but not the John Merrick of shooters here. Looks way worse than the best looking last gen shooters, Black and all that. But those guys could you know, code.

Wii controller isn't ideal for this game, unless you have very long thumbs you won't get from reload to weapon switch without doing some voodoo shit with the controller.

But I will finish it, I have a new worst game of the year, woohooo!

I will now enjoy my Henesey and coke, watch Californication and try to forget all about this awful awful game.

    I hate Electronic Arts....

So I gots me that Battlefield 3. First thing it does is make me sign up to this stupid service Origin. I got to have a whole new friend list juuuuust for EA games. Screw you EA. Then it downloads a 4GB patch to the game. Did they really have 4GB of bugs in that game? Internet is metered over here... Unless it's Steam, then it's free.

Gits. Just stop buying EA games, perfect solution.

  11. Yeah EA seems hell bent on getting back to being the #1 hated company with their recent stunts.

Playing Rage. At first I dismissed it as Borderlands... Only with half the charisma and double the graphics, but....

    ...

Actually that's exactly what it is. The Motorstorm influences are most welcome though. Hope Borderlands 2 is a lot more Motorstormy. Bit of a dry affair though, not funny and quirky like Borderlands, and lacking the strong RPG elements. Damn does it look good though.

It's not earth shatteringly good, but it's the best thing iD have done in years. Rock solid bug free on the new card so far.

Rage. I hate Carmack, every couple of years Mr Roboto pops his head up and says something stupid about a console architecture.... "Oh my God, Atari Jaguar is so awesome it's the future" or "Oh my God, PS3 sucks so hard", then buggers off to play with his toy rockets. Where's the decent games you four eyed sack of sh**? Used to live and breathe by iD, the two Johns.

Last decent game this f***er was involved with was Return in Castle Wolfenstein 11 years ago. I have no idea how someone who hasn't made a decent game in 11 years is still in business. Doom III was so bad it made it mad me laugh out loud. Terrible AI, no head shots, seriously, creatures that ran right at you. The port of Quake 4 on 360 was just so bad, Wolfenstein was so mediocre, played better shooters on PS2.

Rage... Rage, Rage, Rage. Been reading the reviews about it on our awesome "Games you've finished thread". Most buggy game ever, piece of trash, mediocre. I got it super cheap on sale or I wouldn't be playing it. I have to tell you, 9 hours in...

    ...

The game is awesome! I can't believe it! Guess it's because I have the "right" system I don't get the bugs. Zero bugs. Had one blue screen but I put that down to my brand new GTX680's drivers. Zero loading time, hardly any pop up. Would be very interested to see this on a PS3, imagine it's night and day.

So you got a Motorstorm clone here, and on an i7/GTX680 what you got here is like playing Motorstorm, the original desert one on a frigging PS4. Mad detail, mad textures, mad resolution. Doesn't do all the fancy mud effects, but what you gonna do. Worth your $50 for the Motorstorm sections by itself.

Shooter sections are excellent. Not a strong RPG element, some mild potioning and mild weapon/car modding, pretty linear progression tree, but still good. With just a little stronger RPG lineage this game would own Fallout 3. No wonder they bought the company. Fallout 4 on this engine please.

Graphics wise it's stunning, even stresses the GTX680 a little. It's a bit static, no mad physics effects. You rocket grenade a pile of boxes it reacts like a PS2 game, so in some ways the engine is way ahead, other ways horridly behind, but there's so much here done right. The vehicles handle superbly. Superb handling vehicles in shooters are rare, in Crysis they handle like garbage. Everything feels at least as good as Halo 1 which should be the minimum these days.

No grind, all new and fresh. Guess I got it on the right system with a couple of patches. You pay a price of buying brand new PC games, I try and avoid that.

It's no Borderlands, I probably have another 4-5 hours then the game will run out, no 50 hour mega game like Borderlands this, but really good. Needs 4 different cites like Wellspring then it would be the frigging game of the century. Come on 10 DVDs but still. My new surprise game of the year so far. I like surprises.

Has one problem then, half the game is missing. Just runs out, and it's on 3 DVDs as it is. Roll on Borderlands 2.

I had no bugs either (after getting the RAGE driver from AMD)... didn't think it was the BEST game there is, but it sure is one of the better shooters out there, especially if you look at the technology behind it.
    Kept you waiting

Big fan of this, think it's a quarter of the best shooter ever. Teases you with RPG shooter goodness then doesn't deliver. Half to a quarter of the game is missing. Just.... Stops... On the subject of which...

Don't think anyone here but me was a fan of this guy, but he did the best reviews on youtube. Really understood what made a game good, what made it bad. So unusual in this forum world of fanboys, loud mouths, company advocates, sales figures junkies and general gob shites. Bit heavy going for most people, but put 99% of professional reviewers to shame.

Dead at 27. Holy shit. Wasn't like really fat or anything, just up and died for no reason. Dicky ticker. Wondered why he hadn't done any reviews in the last 4 months.

At least the guy played some decent games before he popped.

At least we still have GamingMil, the antiantisocialfatman.

    Bump.

I've been trying to sell off my videogame collection (which isn't that large), but I haven't had many buyers. I have been playing a new character in Skyrim out of boredom. I did plan on picking up the Dawnguard DLC but I'm not sure if it is worth the investment just yet.

Not sure what to make of Skyrim. I want to like it, but I can't help but think that I'm playing it only to kill time.

I've been playing the crap out of Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Soooo fun.

  20. Loving this "play one game until finished" deal Makes it easier to use this thread as well...Next on the list:

    Castlevania: Lords Of Shadows
I really like this game bur for some reason I play for a few hours, then don't play for months, despite really liking it. Odd, I know. Well, I'm going to get around to finishing it as it is the next game and my new way of gaming will make sure I complete it.
