Attack of the Show - PS3 ultimate loser this Gen

Well, watching Attack of the Show they had Adam Sessler (spelling?) and two other gaming journalist on the show. They all pretty much said that PS3 has fallin way behind 360 and Nintendo after E3. All three said Gears of War was the best looking game at E3 and that 360 will probably drop its price when PS3 comes out. They also said that because PS3 is so expensive it will turn off many gamers and give them second thoughts on buying it. I mean, yeah I could of gone on the show and said the same thing..lol. They were also talking about how there won't be enough PS3s out for the comsumers and that there will be mass shortage, which will also turn gamers onto the 360. They all agreed that 360 will be the #1 next-gen console. I really don't have much to say on this. Maybe some of you do, but I will leave it at this.

I agree on many aspects but definetely not the doom outlook for PS3. I still expect the PS3 to sell more than the 360, but if MS wins NA and a good battle in Europe then we definetely got a fight on our hands for the gen after this one.

The most difficult thing here is to place Nin, I cant see Nin staying competitve with gamers (old and young alike) with their machine but I have been wrong on several occasions.

Gears best console game of E3. Only beat by Crysis and I dont feel as if Crysis is representing the game. I feel that MS had a better graphical showing than PS3 but like usual Sony showcased more huge license support (although MS did well in this scenario they just cant outdo Sony especially with Jap dev support).

First they say the price is going to prevent many people from buying it, and then they say there will be mass shortages! I mean, we all know that PS3 is going to sell out the first months regardless of the price, but those guys seem to sacrifice reasonable logic just to spread FUD. PS3 will also drop its price pretty soon.

It is way too early to decide the winner, the loser and the also-ran of the next gen war.

If E3 was the deciding factor on how well consoles do then the 360 would have failed miserably by now as it had a terrible E3 last year. Instead it sold out and has got some decent games and is a serious competitor. The truth is that in 6 months time when the console is released people will judge it then and no-one will remember how the games look now. If you also take Halo as an example when it was first shown at E3 a few years ago it got terrible reactions, but when it was released it became a huge hit.

I don't like how games are becoming hyped purely on graphics. Even if Gears of War does have the best graphics (I don't think it does, but it's not far off) it doesn't make it the best looking game, they should take the gamelay into account. Maybe I'm the only one who thinks GOW looks a bit shallow in the gameplay department, but nearly every game has great graphics these days and I'm sure there were games that were more fun than GOW.

im leaving console gaming for good and will stick to PC. at least than i may pay more but i will make the hardware calls not MS marketings jerks.

hell i may just give up on gaming compleatly and finsh building my boat

I agree there probably are many games more fun than Gears of War.

But in this industry graphics sells more than gameplay and less than franchise titles.

I really won't care if MS wins. As long as they continue to get good games on their console, I'll be happy.

I'll never leave console gaming as long as there are good games for consoles.

i want a PS3 i dont care about anyone else. If PS3 fails cause gamers everware are not willing to shell out extra 100usd every 5-6 years just so they can save the cash to buy more of the same old shit than screw gaming in a hole! I'll just go get a life

and before i hear just one "well why are you hear than?"

its cause i want to be educated about the system not listen to whiny teens and there economic situations.

im looking to make freinds with enthusist like myself not pesimist, and hope to form a stong social circle for PSN once the fun begins

Well right now, I only see one game I want on the system. That is Oblivion, I know it's for PC but my computer would die trying to run it. Although upcoming games for the 360 look cool like Mass Effect, Too Human, Lost Planet, Gears of War, Fable 2, etc, etc.

how you doing guys i wanted to shed some light on what's being said and no i'm a not a sony fan boy i love games i have every console besides game cube but listen to this and let me know what you think

1. how does the number 1 console for 11 years and running becomes the worst talked about console at the moment? well this is my opinion on this situation ok check it out with me

for a consumer right if you really want something your gonna save to get it for example. HDTV's are expensive and people are buying them like hot cakes to get the most out of games, windows vista is coming soon and people don't exactly need it but with all the new editions they are gonna want it and it's gonna sell like hot cakes, hd-dvd / blu ray when people see the image quality on there movies they are gonna buy them like crazy and dvd will slowly fade away in about 3 years maybe.

my point is that when people see something they want they gonna get it, and when people like real hard gamers like myself and you guys your gonna get it most people that got a 360 on day one paid 500 or 600 dollars anyway because most retailers forced you to get games with it or the warrenty with it all these other things and people still spent that kind of money because they felt that's what they wanted.

so far playstation 3 has what everybody wants and what some of us as hard core gamers need. i don't have to repeat the features everybody knows what it has to offer but i wanna shed some light about buying consumer products "longevitiy" is the key to success in business for example when i got psp it was great and i loved it but now it's truly amazing how much more has been added to it without me spending a extra dime on it but now if you look at ipods before the video function came out it still costs more than a psp with only music a battery that can't be changed by the customer and storage space only for music.

Now you have to buy a whole new ipod for 3 or 400 dollars just to get video on a small screen and guess what it sells like crazy so it's about what people want and ps3 has it and for that price your getting everything that the 600 dollars is worth. also psp is getting a gps and a camera this fall if psp can upgrade consistently like this imagine the upgrades we'll see in ps3 in it's first year and now that sony has the more peak performance power in a couple of years you will see why they chose blu - ray and why they chose the cell processor , and why they chose to have a OS built in the system , and a hard drive as well, xbox was the superior console to the ps2 but you didn't see that until 2 to 3 years later in this generation that time will be shortened by alot cause ps3 is much easier to develop for now, they have everything in place from the start gate and so far regardless of what people say " THE SAME PEOPLE THAT'S BASHING SONY PLAYSTATION 3 RIGHT NOW WILL BE THE SAME ONES TELLING US THAT IT'S THE BEST SYSTEM ONCE AGAIN "

just like last year people said microsoft had a terrible showing and they was gonna lose real fast now microsoft is this and that and sony is doomed people are always looking for the bandwagon but truthfully with sony's experience in this field never underestimate market leaders because they are market leaders for a reason!!! thank you and please respond

As for attack of the show, lol..i wont take them too seriously. Its going to be a interesting tight race between Nintendo and Sony though IMO. MS is just going to come out last in the end..again!

Shortages aren't just because of demand . Sony may have a problem producing enough units for thier world wide launch . I'm sure there will be shortages if sony can only supply 1-2m at launch for the world . However once early adopters purchase the system , will anyone else buy a 500-600 unit. Remeber after this holiday (Even before it) Ms can lower the price of the xbox 360. A 250$ core unit will be very attractive for those who don't want hd-dvd or bluray and simply want next gen gaming . By then Ms will have around 200 or so games and more than a few million sellers at reduced prices .

Please dont even believe that stuff...The Nintendo DS wasnt recieved as well as the PSP @ E3 2004 and which is the better selling system with the better games? (hint its not the PSP....)

Although the Wii will do good, its not in the same market as the PS3...both are next gen systems, but PS3 and X360 are more traditional....and they seem to be the spiritual successors to the Gen and SNES.

Personally I don't respect the opinions of the analyst on G4, most of them apprear to be jaded with gaming in general. (based on some of their "side" comments I think they hate their jobs, class B cable show...) Anyone could have made the comments and conclusions that were made on the show.

In general analyst on television frustrate the hell out of me, they tend to jump on bandwagons and the overall theme for E3 was the PS3 was "too expensive". I guarantee the PS3 would have recieved praise if they announced a $399 premium price tag...

Just wait till next year's E3 when the PS3 is displaying 2nd gen titles and you will hear a completely different outcome from the analyst you will think the PS3 is next best thing since sliced bread.

PS: honestly I was not that impressed with the Wii, I like what Nintendo is trying to do regarding innovation in gaming, but the Wii controller is a gimmick and will get old very quickly for hardcore gamers. (That's not their target market) Peace

Well last e3 g4tv was pimping the ps3 and it was a sony fan's best friend.

I think sony put up an okay show. Its hard for sony right now , they had to announce a high price and are riding negative press following the delayed launch.
