Best console name ever ?

Out of the gaming consoles released. What do you think has/had the best name ? and why ?

With Nintendo consoles... Nothing special. Playstation, does what it says. Xbox sound mysterious, dangerous, and cool. Sega Saturn and Genesis, nothing special. The console with the best name is "Dreamcast". To me it sounds sooo cool !!!! It's casting your dreams, making them come true. What do you think ?

Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 are incredibly uncreative. Wii is... not good sounding. So no next generation.

Xbox sounds retarded, Playstation 2 is once again uncreative, and Gamecube sounds pretty retarded too. This generation's names suck too.

Playstation sounds very childish. There's nothing wrong with Nintendo 64, but it's a boring name. Last generation isn't very good either.

Overall Sega (and their doesn't-fit-with-one-generation consoles) has the best names. Genesis and Dreamcast win.

Hmmm. A few names that come to mind are: Genesis, Dreamcast, and Jaguar. Only one of these was a big success (Genesis), and one was a miserable joke (Jaguar), but at least their names were somewhat interesting. Of the three, I kinda liked the sound of Genesis, myself.

Yeah Jim, I remember the "Katana" codename...good times. God, I followed that console for like 2.5 yrs before it came out (which was a lot considering I was still a kid of like, well, 10 when I started following news of it).

The best names I think as of now, in order of greatness: Dreamcast, Genesis, Saturn. SEGA monopoly here guys, sorry...

A bit off topic appart from having the best name for sure I also reckon that JVC hands down designed the most beutiful console ever, It was however based on the quite terrible Mega CD ( I recently got one it's strange in that there are no average games on the system!? there is like a handful of 5 AAA+ titles and then around 200+ really bad games) too bad JVC didn't do the design for segas other machines.

other than that, Nomad had a nice feel to it. makes you think 'wild', 'untamed'.
