Anyone into Condemned, finished it? How is it? It’s been released for the PC, yay! I spent all of spring break playing it on my friend’s 360, but didn’t get anywhere near finishing. Time to get my own copy. Demo is here: http://www.condemnedgame.com/
Is it any good? Survival/horror games dont really do it for me. I know its not really a survival horror game, but you know. I may look into it though.
Downloading the PC demo at the moment I see how it goes![]()
Well, get the demo first. I think it's a great game, but I haven't finished it. I like the mixture of brutal hand-to-hand (technically you have weapons, but there's never enough ammo so you're always resorting to the rusty pipe) with the super-realistic crime scene details (like, you use infared and all the high tech CSI stuff). The environments are great, too, lots of grimy scary barely lit places. I don't generally like the survival horror thing either, but liked Condemned - and it scared the bejeezus out of me a few times.Originally Posted by thecube_128
This game will rock your socks off if you play it at night. If I were a 50 year old geezer, I might have had 3 heartstrokes before I finished the second last level(That level is god damn freaky, ready spare underwear beforehand). This game is mind boggingly atmospheric to a degree that even at points could make you break into sweat.Originally Posted by FourteenthHell

My verdict: This game is a must own for any PC owner with a medium rig. I used a 6600GT with 1Gig ram with a 3Ghz Intel. Just turn off fullscreen FX and this game plays like Xbox360 on that old mid-range Nvidia card.
Hmm, I liked FEAR, but I think it wouldve been better if it werent a horror game. (well, it wouldve been totally different) but Im not really keen on horror. Ill still look into it, maybe get the demo and see what its like. I want a game that will push my computer graphics wise, I can run FEAR on full everything and Oblivion runs better on my comp than on 360... But Id prefer a game that wasnt a horror. Plus little to no ammo in games really annoys me. I probably wont get it unless I find it for cheap and if i really like the demo...
I think if you miss this then you'll be passing on one of the great games of our present time. This is what next-gen is all about when other games are only delivering the visual sense. There is this one title that is actually going beyond the visual sense and creep under our skin for an added bonus sense of fear. Now this is the advent of next-gen when graphics aren't the only thing that defines next-gen but the overall experience that actually makes you believe you're in that particular environment all vulnerable and ready to get pwned big time.Originally Posted by thecube_128
I would highly recommend you this game mate. Don't pass on this one just because you're not into horror. This game is not about horror but about making you feel what next-gen can deliver in terms of atmospheric belief and awe-inspiring sounds. Graphics will rock too, don't worry.
Condemned is good, short but a great experience
I was very impressed with the demo, I liked the whole atmosphere the btutality was awsome. The GFX with the Jupiter Engine Ran better on my PC and surpassed those of F.E.A.R it's like comparing Quake 1 to Half-life both use the same engine however one is tweaked a whole lot more and seems as if the developers understood the engine better on their second run.
The horror elements were quite good, the CSI style evidence gathering was unique and overall done well and was fun to do. It's got good reviews on the 360 and unlike many Console to PC ports this one fells very much at home on the PC![]()
Is there a way to turn off the letterboxing on the Condemned demo? Driving me nuts. Trying to pick up the game but all local shops aren't carrying it yet for PC. :P Guess I gotta order it.
has anyone noticed you can look down whilst standing next to a wall?like real life! and also....you have feet!
Uh not that I could see, unless there is an ratio display in the properties. Annoyed me at first ESP since I only have a 4:3 monitor, my next monitor def will be wide screen and have a native of 1280*720 and so A 360 will look great on itOriginally Posted by FourteenthHell

That's annoying. Oh well, that's why it's a demo. I did order Condemned. Waiting patiently... sorta. When I played over spring break I got maybe 1/2 way through. My favorite moment was ripping a locker door off its hinges and bashing some drugged derelicts with it. Lots of high school angst got worked out in that moment.
i completed the game on the 360 a while back and really liked it. for those of you not interested in horror. I had the same thoughts about resident evil 4 before i got it and now its one my favorite games ever. so try the demo and see if you like it.
Yeah, I agree. Although Condemned can be scary, gory, and startling, the gameplay is just good FPS/melee action, and totally worth the scares.
I bought it, i ahve not gotten past the first level...
Meh.
