we all know that the ps3 seems to be missing the slot for ps2 mem cards right. well i just had a thought, what if all you have to do is use the USB bus for both consoles to hook up and share the data between the too. or between the psp and ps2 then use the psp to transfer the data to ps3. it would be far more cost effective than to build and entire memory port for something that can be done through software right?
There's no information about this subject yet, E3 may shed some light on this.
Who knows, the final PS3 unit may have up to two PS1/PS2 controller and memory card ports for the sake of backwards compatibility. We still haven't seen the final PS3 unit yet.

I think that will work as well, but what I really wanna know is who's the girl with the nintendo? It's a nerds dream girl![]()
The Videogame Innovation began in 1966 with Ralph Baer, not with Nintendo.

Lol, look in the "Babes" section. She's posted there. Just search for "Nintendo", or "NES". You'll find her eventually.
But yeah. Either that, or PSP will have to act the link. Your idea seems much simpler though.

i was honestly just thinking a usb adapter... uses the mem stick like a flash drive
even if there is no official support for moving your PS2 game saves to PS3, you can use 3rd party solutions if you want. there are Action Replay versions (and presumably Gamesharks as well) that allow you to copy your PS2 saves on PC. once you got them on PC, you can easily move them to PS3 in a number of ways.

yeah.. the current actions replay allows you to copy to USB.. but im thinking sony would make and sell their own solution
i think itll be a third party thing, eg logitec or similar

The extent of PS3's backwards compatibility (as far as ports and UI devices) will determine whether or not I'm putting my ps2 down towards getting that ps3.
It makes sence sony would...
i wont be upset though, some of my ps2 games wont even work on the ps3 so its not a bummer for me.
