N64 vs. Ps

Which console do you think rocked?

In my opinion it was the N64. If you look at the PS you will find a lot of good games and a lot, lot, lots of bad games. But the N64 had such a smaller amount of games that they were greater quality games than the PS. Can anyone post some statistics in sellings between these two cosoles

N64 brought so much to gaming. It was the first system to bring 3-d gameplay to the masses. It was so revolutionary when it launched. OOT and Mario 64 both set new bench marks for 3-d game play

ps1 brought gaming to the mainstream. It made video games "cool." Gran tuismo, Metal Gear Solid, FF7. Rpg's final became big after ff7 too.

Both were great systems in my opinion.

Not at all. It was Sony that made videogames "cool" to play. Until then, it was still a geeky hobby for kids with no life. But PS1 had the CDs, the looks, the "cool" games and the "cool" advertising. 'twas Sony my friend.

Quite simply, the PS2 would have never come to be if nintendo never turned its nose in the air to developers. Squaresoft actually encouraged companies to join the PS , whom badly needed the developer support at the time. There is a good chance that Nintendo would still have the 1# console/developer #s seat if it had not been stubborn with the adoption of larger capacity.

Nintendo was it's own undoing.

There is no possible way it would have still been Sega vs. Nintendo. The moment the video game market reached the mass market, all the huge corporations would immediately turn their heads, looking for an investment. These big companies are big for a reason - they sense opportunity and then pursue it to death.
