DMC SE, Pre-ordered my PS3 and a Black Demo...w00t!!!

Yesterday afternoon I walked into my local EB today to pick up DMC SE, but they said it will ship on the 25th....so I dropped the cash for it when it arrives. Well I guess it pays to be friends with the store manager. He handed me a free demo of Black for the PS2.....This game is sick!
But best of all? he took my name down and put me as #2 on the list for the PS3 Pre-order that they are starting in the next couple of weeks! What a day to remember!

Interesting..I will investigate my stores shortly to see what they're doing. As for DMC SE, rock rock on dude. I heard some things about the black demo that sound a little disappointing but I haven't played it yet. Soon, sooon.

Black is a really nice looking game, It feels like a quality Xbox FPS....and Seeing the visuals on my PS2 that look that good...I am very impressed. My only gripe is, when I look at certain textures up close, I notice a shaking or jittering. I also noticed a sort of tiling effect on some of the walls and floors. But aside from the little things, this game has amazing physics and and some sick partical effects!

just remember it is a demo and not necessarily what the final product will look like
I played this demo back at the begining of december
they have had plenty of time to make final adjustments

Well, I will more than likely get it for PS2 anyway....I feel they put a ton of effort into that version and for some reason, playing games that seem to defy what PS2 is considered incapable of doing somehow intrigues me! Path of Neo?

Jupiter long and hard Ive been thinking of a way to show how I feel on this subject and right there you put the words perfectly. I feel the same way when PS2 games such as these are released. Its like a vwery nice wow factor.

I hear ya,
I mean I know the Xbox will eat this game up the spit it out with nary a hiccup, but to see such splendor graced on PS2....well...that is something that grabs my attention. Take Project Snowblind for instance....it was touted as the "superior" version over the Xbox version, well I had to see it....I still play that game and accidentally grab my Xbox controller...it looks incredible for a PS2 game!

) and i can tell you its not that big of a difference. Ill be getting the Xbox version of course (controller is just my preference aswell for FPS). Just as long as its good! It looks freakin sweet.

Yeah, I prefer Xbox for FPS games in general!

There is a chance that I might get Black on Xbox. While the PS2 version looks impressive, like I said before, there are some nasty issues with the demo I played aswell. I noticed some major graphical problems in some areas, Jumpy textures, tiling etc. I assume that the Xbox version will have no such issues! PS2 seems to have issues like this in final versions of games aswell. Check out Mace Griffen. Some of textures actually used to jitter back and forth and the textures were flat. The Xbox version of MG was eye candy, specular lighting, bump/normal mapping etc.

I'm planning on importing my PS3...I'm not one to wait for new things...Plus my friend always sends me stuff so its all good.

I wonder when they are going to start taking pre orders in Japan?

Hey, Jupiter as far as I know EB games isn't taking pre-orders yet. Im on the calling list for the pre-order though. Any more info about the pre-orders?

Er.....uh....well, No I don't! I haven't been back to EB to even ask if they added my name to the "Official" Pre-Order list yet. I Guess I should look into it. I'll keep you posted!

Really Jupiter I don't think EBGames even knows, because my sales associate said that when sony sets a date thats when they will start taking pre-orders. (thats been a few weeks ago though) We will probably find out the sametime EBgames finds out. All I know is when they call me, I will run to EBgames that day.

Yeah, I don't generally rely too much on "EB" release dates. I just wait for the official word and check the buzz on the forums. I find that is proof enough for me.
