To anyone that believes the RSX is a supped up 7800; You are slow-minded.

RSX is totally different Architecture from the 7800, and not to mention the fact that the RSX literally will wope the 7800 in 3D benchmarks.

The RSX is amazing to say the least, sleek yet powerful. You won't believe your eyes when you see its power over the 7800.

(Yes, this is all my opinion. Deal with it)
this right here does not go over my NDA at all. Now, if I would start saying some of its features, or specifications that would be a violation.

Hell, for what I said. nVidia's president has said almost the same exact thing at E3, and he's gone further with it.

Here just read this article, it goes a lot deeper then what I said: http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=23888

C'mon man... Don't just copy and paste, at least put SOME effort into making it legible...

Geez there is so little information on the RSX that i am forgetting what it realy is.
    Less invasions, more equations!

  4. Let's just say that in the office last week we got 3 spanking new PS3 devkits and even though they have the final spec Cell (3.2Ghz) the graphics card is still "Type C" = 7 series 512mb VRAM on PCIe and hence still has the above mentioned CPU-GPU bandwidth restriction.
This definitely does not look like a final dev kit and we are the end of December already.

    Sony, Sony...

Well it shouldnt overly concern us that Nvidia hasnt finished the RSX (at least not for another month, 2 at the most), it isnt anything new to expect games to be developed on weaker configurations, primarily at launch. It is however great news to hear that they have got the 3.2 Cell in there and are steadily moving toward finished hardware.

As far as the RSX, I have great admiration for Nvidia and have no doubt that they will deliver an excellent gpu for the PS3, the only thing that I worry about is time restraints on the intended release date (or the possibility of release being delayed due to this).

But for the love of god let us know something.

  6. awsome news. the RSX will be a beast.

  8. Ditto.
There is nothing absolute in this world. You may sometimes be at a loss knowing that this world is unreasonable.
To break the impasse, you must hold an unshakable belief and insight as well as a certain amount of vitality.

as far as I can see, there is nothing here. some guy says a devkit is not the final one. and?

Sony IS shipping final kits. by 'final' I presume RSX and the PS3 Cell are all finished. Sont may make a few tweaks to the looks and general design of the home system while waiting for a launch line up to shape up.

Yeah the "final" SDK has been shipped aswell as the beta kits. The reference kit or final That are like the PS3 but with more memory is likely going out in a month or so. It all depends on the launch with i think is mid 06.

Also want to point out that the guy on B3D that "spilled" some beans on the latest kits they got, it is because of guys like him that cant keep his mouth shut that Sony are going the restrective way.
And Sony instead will spill the beans.. Hopefully strong and sweet..

Yeah, the B3d guy shouldnt have said ANYTHING. I mean why the heck would a dev just come out and tell a message board exactly whats in the kit. I found that to be a little strange. Also, now that ces is about to start, that board seems to have had an influx of supposed "insiders" Pretty funny stuff

    I agree.

We do not know what priority his company has or what launch schedule their games have. I´ve read comments from other developers that did'nt expect dev kits until later because their games were in early development. As far as we know this might be the case here as well.

The early final dev kits will come in small quantities just as the early beta kits did, it's just the way things are when you start up a new production line.
It makes sense if they deliver evaluation kits in parallel with the final kits.

Hinting and teasing is good but CAN be extremely tiresome in the end if you know...

But i think some things is just plain and simple respect for the Company that probably feed him and the family plus its bad bransh etic and sub moral.
Some of the guys feels like me and have sad it although not as outright as i do now because this is another forum and ive been a member in the B3D community for almost 4 years.(not like i would NOT post the same there but there are other guys doing it better than me) .. :angelgrin
