Consider this: Roughly six months after E3 in May of this year, Microsoft has had a full-featured website devoted to and only to the Xbox 360. Everything they talk about has something to do with it and there's so much hype around that stupid PC it's sickening.
Now consider this: We are -despite recent news about PS3 being released by this time next year here in North America- about 5-7 months away from the originally (from E3) proposed launch period of PS3, and, quite frankly,we. have. nothing.
Nothing- meaning no official site on the Playstation part of Sony.com, not even news about it for god sakes! No actual big important news (you know, the kind we can usually rub in the 360 fanboy's faces). It's like Sony isn't even connected to this console (other than the name).
Now, I'm not saying Sony needs to get out there and create all this hype about PS3 and stuff, and I'm not comparing it to Microsoft in that they are (hopefully) around 6 to 7 months away from the launch (hopefully) in the US and Japan- or worldwide, but whatever- and there still isn't much Sony has done that much to oficially say to the general, non-tech savvy public that they have a new console on the market.
So unless theyre making changes.....BIG changes- to eiither the outside, inside, periphs, or what have you- then I don't see why Sony dosn't even have a measley site up and running....Unless the launch period is much further than originally estimated and proposed for them to have a clear picture of what the console will look like, its specs, and what else it has to offer to build a site and kind of adveritse it more.
