PSP closing in on the DS

Today Sony's CEO Howard Stringer says that 6 million PSPs have been sold world wide. Sorry to say i think that was pretty close to our precious DSs numbers.

Hmm... I dont think there is any reason to be worried, with mario kart and MP I dont think the PSP has ANY CHANCE of beating the DS, not to mention castlevania, trauma center, Mario and Luigi: PIT, etc.

You know what I actually dont care if the psp does good. Becuase I am enjoying the DS extremely more then any handheld I have ever owned. As long as quality games keep coming out for it, I dont care.

My friend a little while back had to buy 6 yes SIX, PS1's because they broke down so much, I dunno if he handled it bad or what.

To be honest, Sony needs only one game to combat those...and that game is GTA!

I know you’re a Nintendo fan so I won’t go into detail about the others. However in the casual gamers mind, GTA with PSP exclusive commercial = SOLD!

Even with the release of Nintendo Dogs, the PSP has sold more units both in American and Europe.

Still the DS claims supreme in Japan. It just goes to show that Japan loves cool gadgets while USA and Europe love power. Both systems are great.

^Pokemon! gotta catchem all! lalalala, hehe. In terms of casual power that still riegns surpreme, expecially if they would do it right. Sure GTA is a million seller, but there are so many other things that make a playstation console a playstation console, like a almost insane amount of exclusive games and rpgs just to name a few. Gta can sell on it's own merit, but really, that's just commerical hype. The psp is missing alot more then simply a gta, and like Deadcel said, I'm done with worrying about the psp, there's no reason too anymore. For me the system has the most refeshing and unique games I've seen in a long time, and I already own 14 titles, one demo, the Ds is doing good for me.

I can't see the PSP catching up and evening out with the DS since I see so many problems...such as no stand alone unit up for sale yet in the US or Europe, I DON'T WANT TO BUY A BUNDLE PACK!

Also the the games aren't that great as well, all I see are Sports Games...no real games that give me a reason to buy a PSP over a PS2...

i wouldnt want a psp because the only good games, except for a few, are console games that i would rather play on my console. i dont see why people would want to buy them, and i still dont get why people get PSPs at all. But i still think sales will spike upward wants GTA is released, but DS sales will go up with the online service and mario kart.

no mario kart games has outsold GTA. i like mario kart dont get me wrong... but all the chavs in the world (including me) will rush out on the 1st day to get the psp GTA.

Actually, since there is so much legislation rising up against violent games (GTA being the most targeted) Mario Kart could out sell GTA...also boost the fact that it's an on-line game...

Correction, not everyone will buy this game first day... or anyday for that matter. I'm in no way, shape or form bashing the PSP but I own one and all I use it for lately is playing mp3's, I don't enjoy any GTA games so I'm fairly sure my PSP will continue to collect dust in terms of game playing (I own MGA and that is a disappointment imo). On the other hand I play my DS all the time, even a few multi-player games on my DS while I'm in a boring lecture at school. Now that is awesome stuff!!
