Jobs in the gaming industry

Hi.

I was just curious how fast this industry is growing and how well they pay for a game developer. Also, what are the areas for this industry?

I'm asking all of this because I'm seriously thinking about getting a degree related to it.
There are several paths to take within but I don't know exactly which one to take. :what:

Well, I heard there are 3 directions to take:
Art Creation, Level Design, or Software Development.

I would probably fit better at the level design.
